The diversity of foods we find on the market raises a big question mark. Although we have almost all groups of vegetables and fruits available in stores, almost 30% of the world's population has problems with nutritional deficiencies. Specifically, about 2 billion people suffer from anemia.

Vitamins and minerals are of two kinds: the synthetic ones - manufactured chemically identical to the natural ones by pharmaceutical institutions and the natural ones - which we obtain from organic sources (food).

While the natural vitamins and minerals we ingest from food are assimilated in the small intestine (duodenum), synthetic ones are created to simulate the action of natural ones in the body.

The food we eat daily does not help us to assimilate all the vitamins and minerals we need. It is also our fault that we do not eat healthily, but there are also things that do not belong to us, such as the quality of these foods that we eat.

We often turn to vegetables and fruits with the thought that the health ratio is higher, but just as many times we find many more chemicals in these vegetables/fruits than we find in certain semi-prepared products.

Most of the time it is much easier for us to resort to nutritional supplements. Due to lack of time, lack of healthy food or simply, we think it's better. Totally wrong I can say.

The best vitamins and minerals are the ones we find in the basic diet. There are also medical cases in which all this cannot be assimilated, and then it is really necessary to resort to nutritional supplements, vitamins, and minerals, consumed as a surplus to what we get from food.

We got here because we live in an age of speed. We are always on the run, we are always tempted to resort to fast food, we eat on the run and so we do not target all the groups of vitamins that we should assimilate from natural food.

Lifestyle is also a major factor leading to these nutritional deficiencies. Sport must be part of our daily lives. The body works much better if we help it with daily movement, simple movements such as walking, exercise at a normal pace to maintain the functionality of the organs in normal proportions.

Supplements should not replace a balanced diet, as foods contain not only essential vitamins and minerals but also amino acids and enzymes that contribute to the absorption of vitamins in the body.

No matter how similar the chemical structure between them, the nutrients produced in the laboratory, and the natural ones, the body reacts completely differently to their effect.

First of all, they behave differently in the body because they are not as absorbed and used by the body. This is possible because when it comes to natural foods, we do not just choose vitamins and minerals. In addition, we consume a whole range of co-factors and enzymes that allow their optimal use by the body.

It is very important to understand that natural minerals and vitamins, from diet or natural sources, work optimally in the body due to the complexity of nutrients they are part of. Each component of this complex enhances them and helps the body to process them properly for its health.

To a large extent, all vitamins and minerals on the market are produced in the laboratory, so they are synthetic. The advantage of buying them in large numbers is that they have a low price compared to the natural ones.

Dietary supplements are an effective way to supplement your daily intake of minerals and vitamins. The key to healthy eating is to find what is right for your body and your deficiencies.

There are many situations in which natural supplements are consumed without having a deficiency. It is said that "it is good to take Calcium or Magnesium from time to time", not knowing that it can do more harm than good.

All these natural supplements, if you end up resorting to this option, are taken after a prescription and only after some laboratory tests. We should not consume as we please.

The bottom line is that all minerals and vitamins must be taken according to certain criteria. First of all, we need to know if we have certain shortcomings or not. In addition to the vitamin and mineral supplements we take, we must also have a healthy lifestyle.

They complement each other and a balance must be maintained between the food we eat and the daily work we have to do.
