Fine dining. Exotic dishes. Luxury hotels. Island experience. Grand festivals. Warm and welcoming Cebuano ladies.

Crowned as the Queen City of the South, Cebu is the ideal vacation spot to visit and explore. Its tropical ambiance reminds you to take it easy and to enjoy life moment by moment.

Aside from the weather, Cebu is home to friendly and adventurous locals. They know how to unwind and temporarily forget the hustle of everyday life by singing at karaoke bars and swimming at local beaches.

In the summer, Cebuanos love to spend time with their families and friends by basking under the sun and going island hopping. This experience becomes more exciting when you include delectable arrays of seafood dishes in the equation.

If you’re into history and culture, Cebu does not disappoint either. It has a rich cultural heritage evident in its preservation of historical sites, public and private museums, galleries, and other remarkable landmarks found around the province.

You won’t ever run out of places to see, things to do, and people to meet in Cebu.

Visiting Cebu during the New Normal

The whole province of Cebu was raised under a heightened General Community Quarantine last August 2021, while a few selected major cities are under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine. Since the announcement, the province has issued appropriate travel requirements and regulations.

In regards to this, here’s the latest travel guide to Cebu:

    1. Requirements for travel

  • Round trip plane tickets
  • Medical certificate
  • Negative RT-PCR test result (taken 72 hrs. prior arrival) or negative antigen test results (taken 48 hrs. prior arrival)
  • Cebu public health passenger tracing form
  • Itinerary or other proof of pre-booking at accredited Cebu hotels and resorts
  • Passed symptom checking at airports

The listed requirements above are also applicable when traveling to:

  • Malapascua Island
  • Bantayan Island
  • Moalboal
  • Oslob

2. Health protocols

Travelers must wear face masks and face shields, especially when in public places and when using public transportation. Bringing alcohol or hand sanitizer bottles is also ideal.

When in places with a high crowd density, physical distancing is strictly encouraged.

Fast foods, restaurants, and cafés, also require and observe these health protocols.

How to Get Around Cebu

Being an ideal travel destination, you have multiple options of places to see and modes of transportation you can try in Cebu.

Here are a few tips for getting around the island:

1. Philippine Jeepney

It’s one of the most popular means of public transportation in Cebu City. You will find one in almost every street in the metropolis area. Not only is it easy to find and hail one, but it also offers relatively cheap fare.

One important fact is they follow a number system - each jeepney is assigned a number that covers a distinct route throughout the city; because of this, riding them can get a little tricky.

To avoid getting in on the wrong one, ask nearby locals for help. They will gladly assist you.

2. Tricycles

Unlike the jeepneys, you won’t find tricycles in the metropolis area. You can only find them in local towns and barangays, making them the ideal ride when going around residential and secluded places in rural parts of Cebu.

It’s easy to spot them because they’re usually clustered together, parked at the corner of the streets and around other establishments. It isn’t as cheap as the jeepneys, but it also doesn't cost a lot either.

3. Motorcycle

You can also find motorcycle taxis in selected parts of the province. Cebuanos call this mode of transportation habal-habal. They can take you exactly where you have to be and save you from the heavy traffic in the city.

It saves you time, especially when you’re running late. If you are worried about your safety when riding in one, don’t be. Habal-habal drivers always carry a spare helmet for you to use during the trip to ensure your safety.

In terms of cost, motorcycle rides can be a little bit pricey compared to riding a tricycle. After all, it’s more on the service and convenience you have to pay for.

4. Taxi

Taxis are some of the most expensive rides around Cebu. You’ve most likely ridden one from the airport upon your arrival and on the way to your hotel.

They can be convenient, as you will not be riding with other passengers, and the cab is cooled with an air conditioning system that saves you from heat and humidity. The only downside is that it can get pretty expensive, especially if your destination is far away.

5. Other transportation options

  • Coach Buses

Buses are like the large version of jeepneys. They are perfect for going outside the city and visiting local spots and municipalities around Cebu province.

  • Ferry

If you plan to visit nearby islands, the ferry is your best public transportation option since it’s cheaper than plane rides. However, you will have to deal with seasickness.

  • Private Drivers

Hiring a private driver can cost more since you have to pay for the rental car fee and the driver’s service fee. It’s only ideal when you’re traveling as a group.

6. Walking

It’s possible to walk on foot around Cebu.

It’s a great way to see the streets, try street food, and meet Cebuano vendors whose smiles can brighten up your day. However, keep in mind that you have to be mindful of your belongings when walking around to avoid unfortunate incidents.

Meeting and Traveling with Cebuanas

If you want to meet Cebuanas for dating and marriage, the first thing you have to do is visit Cebu — join a Cebu single’s tour. It will be a great opportunity for you to spend time with local women and get to know them better.

Not only will you get to see and explore the beauty of Cebu island, but you will also get the chance to find love during your trip. It’s not going to be the same as a normal international vacation. It’s going to be more exciting, interesting, and fun. Explore, mingle, date, and fall in love by joining a singles’ vacation tour.

This is the sign you’ve been waiting for. We all have second chances for love. No matter how young and old we are, we never have to close our hearts to the right person to come our way.
