Today is your lucky day, Gemini. This is the first ever True and Accurate Horoscope you have ever received and the good news is that its Truths will hold True not just today, but every day for the rest of your life. That’s the bad news, too. You have been analyzed to the core of the depths of your being and consciousness. Based on our assessment you should stop reading now. Your history indicates that you are not ready. Answers may lie ahead but it will quickly become evident that even with the fog lifted rack and ruin may lay unavoidably in your way. Best of luck whichever path through these yellowed woods you choose, Gemini.

If you’re still reading it’s because of the appeal to Frost. Frost has always had its appeal to you, hasn’t He? To get the class’s attention the tall reading teacher in your elementary school had banged what he swore was a human femur on the desk, though you suspect now it was from a deer, before reading Frost and from that moment on you have found yourself at that divergent path again and again. The Road Not Taken has always called to you, Gemini. In reading this horoscope you find yourself there again.

Let’s be clear, Gemini, the stars barely matter. The planets race across constellations made of long-dead, burnt-out husks too distant to matter in any meaningful way though all things are indeed connected through gravity and the strong and weak forces and quantum entanglements too small to see yet too large to comprehend. The planets tug at you, but the only one that Truly matters is the one beneath your feet. You feel it now as you again stand in that yellowed wood. The duality of the moment is upon you now as it always is, Gemini. Each second a twin and you choose your own adventure. Which twin will take the wheel?

Every Astrology Girl and Warlock you’ve ever met has asked you your birthday and you’ve seen the disdain in their eyes when you responded. It’s not the stars, Gemini, it was programmed into you before Frost even. “Will it be The Good Twin or The Bad Twin today?” your mother would ask on those hot summer mornings when you were both home for summer vacation. You’d resented that question at the time, but the Truth is you’d made up your mind before you’d even gotten out of bed, you only seem unpredictable to others.

Years later you’d see the horror movie where the frustrated mother screams “Why can’t you just be normal” at her child who’s either mentally ill or haunted by a monster and you felt bad for your mom. The haunted boy shrieked back at his mother and you’d felt bad for yourself and all the children haunted by monsters who can only scream into the void. Scream now, Gemini.

Fate is real, but is so indifferent that It matters less than do the embers of those burned-out stars light millennia away. False idols abound with their promises of hope, but you need not look far to see what devotion to them brings. Everywhere power-structures stand like pyramids with all the rewards trickling up weighing down and crushing the masses below. You have seen the whole time where the well trod paths lead. What has frightened you most is that no matter whether the adherents are draped in chains of gold or iron they all have the same empty look in their eyes. This is why you linger so long in the yellowed wood.

Every moment, two paths, two twins. The options square. Either twin can go either way. How far could you get if each twin went a different way? The options cube, more paths reveal themselves in that yellowed wood. Left and right and up and down the choices threaten to overwhelm you, freezing you to that spot in the yellowed wood. Do you feel the frost, Gemini.

You felt it the night you got drunk and crawled into the snow, when every path before you seemed too bleak to continue. A poet’s death, you thought. A romantic final act rimed with Frost, a joke no one would get all the way to the end.

You see your own cold-blooded reptilian stare in the mirror, but you know the Truth, Gemini. There is combustion inside you and it is the only thing that has ever kept you alive. The Good Twin and The Bad Twin are equally passionate, they have to be. They burn with the same Chaotic energy that fuels living stars. Lay bare your gray matter in a dark room and tell me what difference you see between the firing of your neurons and the constellations above, Gemini. This is the Horoscope of Within.

It is the gravity inside that determines the path you take. Tear your eyes away from the sky and look at yourself, Gemini. Someday all of everything above and below, within and without, will be dark and cold. After The Inevitable Heat Death of the Universe all will succumb to the cold and all of everything everywhere will be still. Not a single atom will cheat the frost as you did. Do you feel bad for what you did? That’s another thing your mother would say to you. No, you don’t now and you didn’t then, but maybe you should.

We know it sounds hopeless again, Gemini, but don’t despair, by the time all is frozen your elements will be back among the comets and nebulas from whence they came. You live in a time of heat and motion. This moment and all moments are an intersection of infinite paths you may travel. We told you today was your lucky day. Do you see now that they all are?

This is not a horoscope, Gemini, this is a map. Examine it now but do so quickly for the yellowed wood is cold and the frost is creeping in.
