Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, proposed a famous psychological theory called "Freudian slip rule".

In Freud's opinion, the human spiritual world is like an iceberg, and the conscious consciousness only accounts for a small part of the surface, while most of the hidden under the surface is subconscious. Any conflicts and entanglements in the subconscious mind will bring varying degrees of influence to the conscious mind.

A slip of the tongue is a manifestation of the subconscious mind. The content of a slip of the tongue is often the reflection and portrayal of the true thoughts in the deep heart.

Say the wrong name is a common slip of the tongue, Freud's explanation for such a slip of the tongue is: use a name instead of another name, the mistake of name of another person, these suggest that the presence of people an emotion, but due to various reasons, the people at the time of the case and can't completely this kind of emotion.

In the process of communication between psychologists and others, people often like to create a comfortable atmosphere, so that those who communicate with their own people feel comfortable, relax psychological alert, open and honest expression of their ideas.

For example, a person who says he went shopping with his mother today, when in fact he went shopping with his girlfriend, may have some kind of emotional attachment to his mother that goes beyond kinship.

Friends fans will remember this episode:

Rose and Emily are married in a Church in London. To the strains of English music, Emily follows the priest and says: "I, Emily, take Rose to be my lawfully wedded husband, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to have and to hold." It was Ross's turn to swear, "I, Ross, will give Rachel --"

Ross's friends and family were horrified when he mistook Emily's name for his former lover Rachel.

If Old Freud had been there, he would have smiled.

Deep down, Ross still loves Rachel! His slip of the tongue was an expression of his subconscious conflicting thoughts!

There is a story about a real estate sales representative who took a couple to look at a house. The house itself was not in good condition, but when they stopped in front of it, the woman's eye was quickly drawn to a flowering cherry tree in the backyard. She immediately said to her husband, "Look at that flowering cherry tree! When I was a little girl, we had one in our backyard, and it was just as beautiful when it blossomed. I grew up wanting to live in a yard with cherry trees." Her message to her husband was immediately and accurately captured by the salesman.

When the man complains about the kitchen being too small or the bedroom facing the wrong way, the salesperson has found a very good way to deal with the criticism: acknowledge the problem, but send a clear message to the woman: Here "the kitchen is a bit small, and the bedroom is not well oriented, but whether you are cooking in the kitchen or resting in the bedroom, you can see the beautiful flowering cherry tree from the window in front of you".

In the end, the cherry tree even became the perfect platform for the sales representative to explain his core ideas for the house. The deal went through.

Although the intention brought by people's subconscious mind can be concealed, it will always be exposed from some aspects. As long as people's guard consciousness is eliminated or some emotional pressure is artificially created, they can often understand the information to be queried directly or indirectly.
