Because fear kills everything.

You have been watering your heart’s garden so beautiful feelings may flourish. “I believe in you,” are words that water flowers but they are not blooming. You must seek that place that brings out the human in you, the soul in you, the love in you. “Déjate querer mujer!” I know you are afraid to show the real you but I need you to know that you deserve to be fought for.

That does not mean to pour your sunshine into someone whose eyes do not even glisten when they make contact with you. You are more than a rainy day fund, so buy all the necessary supplies and paint yourself in every color of the rainbow. Whenever they take a picture of the sky, they are going to see your face and realize your presence was pure perfection.

But don’t dwell on the people who leave you with more questions than answers; I know you wanted them to stay, but you deserve someone who was willing to stay. And at some point, you have to stop searching for the why and just leave it alone, just like they did you.

You are being haunted by the things that you refuse to accept. Accept that the space in your bed is no longer filling that void and what once did faded away without a proper goodbye. The not knowing is what haunts you like reading a book with missing pages. You are constantly writing chapters in your romance novel when you are merely a line in theirs. I know you are obsessed with picture perfect relationships but you will spend the rest of your life searching for them.

And I know you may feel like a feather ever so lightly drifting in and out of people’s lives but you do not allow yourself to make deep connections because you are afraid of being vulnerable. Being alone revolves around peace and tranquility but being alone filled by someone’s presence resembles comfort and warmth. Although there was heavy tension in the room, their caressing touch broke the silence.

I want you to write this chapter and proceed with caution. Just because I said proceed with caution does not mean to proceed with fear. I know you look for the kind of love that can only be found in books but I want you to spin like a globe and let yourself be touched by every ounce of love that is meant for you. You may meet the person who is just as lost as you but something about them is going to make you feel more alive and in the moment than ever before.

Remember when you watched the trailer to The Photograph and you immediately started to cry because Mae's inability to love was a reflection of you.

When she questioned Michael, "How are you supposed to know you if want to spend forever with someone?"

He answered, "I want to try to be together."

"That's not practical."

"I'm not trying to be practical, I want to be with you."

Please put in the courage you put in your work to love. You might be terrible at first dates because your mind is frantically trying to decide how to act, but just be yourself.

You have one of the biggest smiles I have ever laid eyes on and someone is going to appreciate that smile as much as I do, one day. Do not go another day thinking you are hard to love – detach yourself from the feeling of need. Your heart is safe here.

And because fear kills everything. Your mind, your heart, your imagination, I want to remind you that, you are enough. Every morning, every sunrise, every day.
