We are so into living for others and clapping for them. In all this,we forget to appreciate ourselves how far we have come.

Sometimes we need a break. Just to look back and be thankful that we never gave up in life.

It also helps to look at things from a new perspective. Life is not fair for all. Some of us have to battle it out much more than the other person.

Here are the 5 proofs that you have got your back.

1. You Show Up for Yourself

There is a level of devotion in smallest things you do for yourself.

You remind yourself daily of your goals. You don’t mind if it’s for 5 minutes or two hours - You have structured your time and work for it. This might be getting shape - You are spending atleast five minutes working out. If your goal is to excel in your career - you are showing up prepared for meetings. It’s in the tiniest details that changes begin. You understand the power of compounding effect.

You are there for your goals. You are there for yourself - Daily.

2. Your Boundaries Are Defined

You have a clear picture of what you will not tolerate anymore. You are done with begging people for basic decency. You are done with being in a space that is not bringing you happiness. You realise this:

”In this world, only you can speak up for yourself - always”

Missing some people would have meant the end of the world for you. Now you see them for what they are. You see clearly as if your hazy vision is clearing after you woke up from sleep.

You step away and choose peace.

You understand your energy is sacred. You protect your space.

3. You Stopped Explaining Yourself

Even to your loved ones.

You are okay to be ridiculed, laughed at, to be underestimated.

You smile at people giving you random life advice. You just know what you want. If you are single, there are the “concerned” folks advising you that it’s getting late. You ignore them and focus on your work.

You understand that not everyone is going to be comfortable with your struggles and success. You let them go and trust yourself first.

4. You Are Able To Hear Beyond The Noise

We are in the loudest era ever on earth. We are literally drowning in terabytes of data daily. There is social media feeds updating every microsecond of what is important. There is always something better you can be doing now. There is an unattainable idea of perfection.

But you have your priorities clear.

You learn to see beyond trends. You understand your health matters more than working for your summer body. You invest long term instead of falling for the latest bitcoin discussion.

It does not mean that you have shunned yourself from the world.

You just have built your “no-fucks given” filter.

5. You Respect Yourself More

The funny thing is self-respect is earned. You can’t tell or write into respecting yourself. You show it to yourself through your actions.

Every time you stand up for your goals, you are watching. Your sense of self gets a boost when you keep the promises you made to yourself.

In every action you take towards your well-being, no matter how messy it looks is a proof that your taking yourself seriously.

We all want to be taken seriously, our goals respected and our boundaries valued.

But everything starts with you doing it first for yourself and you know that.

Closing Thoughts

We as humans tend to underestimate our short term efforts because the picture of perfection we have in our mind is huge. We forget that our daily actions are building this picture pixel by pixel.

We fight for ourselves by showing up, by keeping our boundaries intact. We fight for ourselves when we stop waiting for universal approval for doing the right thing.

We are fighting for ourselves when the noise does not deter us and when we respect ourselves first before the world does.
