Most articles that I publish are subjects that I have personal experience with.

Sometimes those experiences have smacked me in the face when I’m talking to someone else or listening to someone else’s similar testament of their experience.

Life is all about perspective.

Four people can be in one room. Each of those four individuals has different identities, different upbringings, different perspectives, different motives, different moral compasses, and so on.

Each of those people could have experienced a shared similarity in a situation.

What you may find though, is that out of those four people — they each have different perspectives of what actually happened. They all believe what they experienced and perceived to be true.

Guess what? They’re not wrong.

Once more with feeling…

Life is about perspective.

Your life is only as difficult as you make it.

Did you know that it’s not what happens to you that matters most, but how you choose to perceive what happens to you?

Let’s talk about it.

You could wake up one day and let the day rule you.

What exactly could that look like?

You have this “thing” you are getting ready for. This “thing” could be work, a date, a party, etc. But, letting the day rule you looks like running behind schedule and rushing down the highway only to find traffic backed up for miles due to an accident.

Letting the day rule you could be as simple as taking that frustration and expending it throughout the entire day to each situation and each person that interacts with you.

You ruling your day, instead, could be as simple as giving thanks for your safety — even though you’re getting to your destination later than you intended.

Which one changes your life?

They both do.

The ways and methods you utilize to improve your life can be as simple or as complex as you make them.

Change Your Mindset

Sounds cliche doesn’t it? Well, it’s most certainly not. The key to changing anything in your life is to change your mindset.

When you realize how powerful your mind is and how quickly your life can change due to the thoughts you continue to allow your mind to fester, you’ll be more mindful of what you entertain.

Your thoughts create your reality.

Your thoughts create what you experience. Your experience creates emotions, and it’s up to you what type of emotions are emitted and how long they remain in a certain cycle.

This will be something that you revisit often in your life no matter how successful or accomplished you are or become.

There will be times when you will need a reminder or a pick-me-up.

Life constantly changes cycles. You will experience moments of happiness, sadness, grief, love, and many more — but it’s all about how you handle them.

Look For Opportunities to Be Grateful

9 times out of 10 if you ask or research successful people in any field how they were able to achieve and overcome the things that they have, and I guarantee you that somewhere along the lines — gratitude is one of the highest hacks on their list.

Why should you be grateful?

According to Harvard Health Publishing, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness.

What does greater happiness give you?

Success.

What does success give you?

An improved life.

I think you see where this is going.

Here’s the link to that article to read more.

Focus on The Bigger Picture

Where will your actions lead you in the next 5 to 10 years?

Are you happy with that?

Focusing on the small details gives you a limited perspective on many things in life. Being limited and closed off to things only leads to stagnation.

Especially if you don’t hold yourself accountable for your actions. There’s a way to do this and still not beat yourself up when things don’t go as planned.

I don’t look at moments that didn’t produce the results I intended as “failure”. Each moment is a teachable moment. That is what we are here for, to learn and experience life.

“Failure” is just another chance to get it right.

So, how can you fail if you have another chance?

Exactly.

Rest

Why rest? Because this can be heavy and overwhelming if you don’t usually look at things this way.

There is power in rest. There is grace that you are gifted when you rest.

When does the body have the most improvements? You guessed it!

When you are at rest.

You’ll know when it’s time to get back up and start kicking.

And when you do, your life will change. All because of you.
