Tears are known as a sign of sorrow and pain. However they have some benefits that prove their worth for human's health and well being.

1. Tears help in Emotional release: Tears provide a release of emotions like catharsis, it helps alleviate stress and promotes emotional well-being. For example, after we shed tears we after a break up we feel healed again.

2. Tears Cleanse us Physically: Tears cleanse the eyes by washing away dusting them, irritants, dust and prevent us from potential eye infections. When something gets into your eyes, shading tears can flush out the foreign objects and soothe the eyes.

13. Healing wounds:Lysozyme, a naturally occurring antibacterial substance present in tears, helps in eliminating bacterias on the surface of eyes' skin, it also assists in the healing of wounds. When we shed tears over a wound it keep it cleans and clears of infections.

14. Communication tool:Humans use tears as acommunication tool to let others know that you are sad, upset, hurt, scared or in need of assistance. Crying also tells others that we are extremely happy about certain thing or person's action or presence.
