Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'The Signal' (2007)
Yeah, it was pretty entertaining, being just on the horror side of horror/comedy. It's a lot like Yellowbrickroad in many ways as it's a slow descent into madness. I bring up, Yellowbrickroad a lot and for damn good reason. It's one of the best examples of cerebral horror movies. Check out the review below.YellowbrickroadANYWHO!... back to "The Signal." It just gets wackier and wackier. Yeah, it's really bloody violent, and people are marauding around killing each others, but it's not simple or unhinged like The Crazies, it's almost silly like everyone thinks they're in a fucking cartoon.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'White Noise' (2005)
You know, it's not a bad movie, but it's just so lukewarm compared to movies in its class. I'd compare this one to Stir of Echoes, and every time I do, I'm just going to end up saying, watch that instead. We can pretty much cut to the punch line here. Everything this movie does, Stir of Echoes does better, just with fewer shameless jump-scares.

The Imperfect Perfection
The Perfection is yes, far from perfect, however so worth it. I know it’s cheesy, but it is how I’m feeling and let me tell you why. I got a little hint about watching The Perfection, on Facebook of course. One of the horror groups I’m involved in mentioned it. I looked it up, and decided right then and there, “why not?”. So, I get on Netflix and check out the film. Mind you, I have no idea what it’s about or who’s in it. I just know that it was recommended by a few horror fans. Yes, I’m expecting some gore, a disturbing plot, and a few twists. However, what I experienced was not even close to what I was expecting.

'Day of the Dead: Bloodline'
So it was about time for me to watch another horror effort on Netflix. Even though there are well-known horror films on there, I tend to watch the lesser known films, of all genres, and in various languages. Today, I decided to watch an English speaking effort called Day of the Dead: Bloodline, a remake, a homage to George A. Romero’s original 1985 film, Day of the Dead.

Movie Review: 'The Dead Don't Die' Fumbles as Zombie Satire
The classic Simpsons headline gag turned meme “Old Man Yells at Cloud” comes to mind rather often for me. I used to admonish myself and call out others who fruitlessly rage in no particular direction, hitting no targets and just generally being misguided. "Old man yells at cloud" is a solid description for writer-director Jim Jarmusch and his new movie The Dead Don’t Die. As written by Jarmusch, The Dead Don’t Die rages satirically against millennial's and consumer culture and iPhones, with no particular direction to the rage.

Weird Weekday Movies: 80s Anthology Horror 'Chillers'
In the world of horror, the anthology film is a frequent source of ghoulish fun. Usually comprising a handful of amateur efforts from unknown directors with an abundance of gore on their mind. However, for every VHS and Creepshow success, there are lesser-known "gems" that also have helped carve out this niche sub-genre of horror. I actually would love to write more on the subject of anthology horror and its impact on cinema, but for now I'm going to pick a specific one that has recently come to my attention. A movie that, quite frankly, is trash of the lowest order and makes no apology for it. So read on as I introduce you to 1987s Chillers, and explain why it needs to be seen to be believed.

'The Silence' (2019)
What the hell does that mean?“Don’t make noise.” There are still certainties in this world. First of all, you can expect that if a type of movie has enormous success, something similar will appear in no time. A matter of surfing on the wave of success, I guess. The Silence resembles, for instance, the successful film A Quiet Place. It’s not exactly the same thing, but there are a huge number of similarities with the latter (And yes, I know both films were made almost simultaneously and it's based on a novel from 2015, but still). And then it appears once again that humans are the cause of problems. So this time, there's no space monsters with a sophisticated hearing organ, like in A Quiet Place. Now there are some overenthusiastic speleologists who can’t resist sticking their noses into something out of curiosity. In particular, a cave that they have discovered. Cries of joy are quickly replaced by cries of fear and hysterical whining the moment they break through the cave wall. What these human moles didn’t realize was that they were about to release some prehistoric bat-like creatures into the world. Beings who, after years of living in the dark, only rely on their hearing so they can find another victim. Best advice? Be silent.
