Impetigore is a creeptastic horror movie from Indonesia that is competing to be Best Foreign Film at this year’s Academy Awards. The film is Indonesia’s official entry into the awards season and it is not your typical Oscar movie. This is a blood and guts shocker about curses, babies born without skin, and two innocent women whose desire for wealth overwhelms their good judgment.

A Filmmaker's Review: "Theatre of Blood" (1973)
This movie is a cross between a dark comedy, horror and more of a suspense thriller. Whatever the genre really is, doesn't really matter all too much because we already know what to expect when the film stars the likes of Vincent Price. In this film he portrays an actor who has been turned down by an elite society of critics so many times that he commits suicide. In his last act of revenge he 'comes back from the dead' to kill all of the critics who did him wrong. He uses the last Shakespeare plays he acted in to achieve this as he kills them all in these various ways.

Castle Freak (2020) Review
Fans of Stuart Gordon’s 1995 genre masterpiece Castle Freak didn’t need to be told that Tate Steinsiek sure had his work cut out for him when he decided to tackle a remake this past year. Like many of his other works, Gordon’s Castle Freak did a magnificent job bringing the work of writing legend H.P. Lovecraft to life while putting his own trademark spin on it. Then there’s the strong opinion so many horror fans seem to have against remakes in general. So, how does Steinsiek’s Castle Freak 2020 stack up against the original? And more importantly, is it worth your time, or are you better off simply rewatching Gordon’s original camp masterpiece?

The Dungeonmaster (1984)
When I was a kid, back around the year 1987 or 1988, there was an old-fashioned videocassette store called "Globe Video." It was situated on a sleazy gravel parking lot on the Marion, Indiana bypass, and it was one of those low-rent , down-at-the-heels little places with a counter and shelves lined with those big old-fashioned videocassette boxes, the often garish and provocative cover images promising cheap thrills and a few hours of escape, and all for just ninety-five cents.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Sinister' (2012)
Yeah, you know this movie really wasn't that bad. It got a lot of shit for shameless jump-scares and thoughtlessly rehashed tropes. Even Stephen King should be mad at this movie for stealing his "obsessed writer gets caught up in horror" trope. I kid but honestly, this did have a similar feel as dozens of Stephen King adaptations because of how often he uses the obsessed writer trope.

Underrated Horror Movies
The Barrens (2012) Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Mia Kirshner (The Black Dahlia) star in this obscure flick that probes the mythos of The Jersey Devil. A father takes his strained family on a camping trip to the Pine Barrens, hoping it will bring them closer together, as well as rendering it a memorial trip dedicated to his father. After a campfire story about The Jersey Devil, the father begins acting strange and the trip quickly takes a turn for the worst. This crafty movie that utilizes the atmosphere of isolation and the lore surrounding the Pine Barrens is a twisty psychological ride.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'The Shed' (2020)
So far, I've been pretty disappointed with the majority of Shudder Originals, save Mayhem (2020), which was a fucking hoot. Basically, Shudder is 1-3 here and Mayhem doesn't quite make up for the other three films. However, if you want the 'too long; didn't read' version of this review, it would be "Watch Mayhem instead."

Flowers in the Attic (2014) - Film Review
After reading the novel and being hooked from the first page, I was looking forward to seeing the film adaptation and would it live up to my expectations. I'm pleased to say that the film was not a disappointment and stayed faithful to VC Andrews' gothic-horror novel.
