Swinging in to dethrone Shaun of the Dead for my all time #1 horror comedy is Lupita Nyong'o with Little Monsters! The closest thing I can compare this avant garde, absurdist comedy to is Death to Smootchy (2002). I don't review non horror comedy, but if I ever did, it would be Death to Smootchy, which is easily my #1 all time comedy.

An incredible movie and instant classic, Us (2019) by Jordan Peele is a brand new kind of nightmare in horror movies not seen since, well, it's never been seen at all. Peele is known for his brilliant writing skills and his Hitchcock-like suspense in horror film. A climbing horror filmmaker, Jordan Peele has established himself as a brilliant writer as well as director as he writes dialogue with such amazing finesse that you fail to recognise sometimes that it is only a movie. But, with these concepts you better hope it's only a movie. Let's have a look at the history of me and this movie though it only came out this year...
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in Horror10 Best Horror Movies from the 1990s
A lot of major horror fans talk about the 1990s as though they were the Medieval period. Admittedly, it was a lower quality time for horror movies. There were more sequels than original work and there was a sense of needed change in the genre. There are still some good movies that should definitely be seen, so check them out!
10 Best Horror Movies from the 1980s
The 1980s were a time that was heavily inspired by the horror movies of the 1970s. Especially Halloween and The Exorcist there would be so many movies involving slashers and paranormal horror. It is very hard to go through the amount of horror movies that were coming out. A lot of them were not very good, unfortunately. But there were still movies that intentionally, or not, were good. So, here are my top 10 best horror movies from the 1980s.
Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Dreamscape' (1984)
Dreamscape was the k-mart A Nightmare on Elm Street (ANOES) that was rushed to the theaters a couple moth before. So TECHNICALLY it predates ANOES, but in the same way Leviathan predates The Abyss. Back in the days, little studios would catch wind of what the big boys were doing and try to head them off at the pass with quicker productions and cheaper budgeting.

It was very hard to slim down this list from the forty titles I was looking at. The 1970s was a period of time where really good horror movies started to come out at a fast rate. My top three probably isn't going to shock anyone that is into horror movies. They're classics for a reason and are still amazing to this day.
'Crawl' - A Movie Review
Brace yourselves for the horrendous hurricane! That and the alligator lurking in your basement too. Crawl is a 2019 thriller about a father and daughter trapped in the basement of their house by alligators as a torrential hurricane hits the area. Working together, the two stop at nothing in this epic fight for their lives as the basement floods.

I've always wondered to myself why Event Horizon isn't higher on my list of top 10 horror movies. It's not that I don't firmly stand by my current position for it at #6. It's just that I never considered why it wasn't better as I haven't bothered to go back since I started reviewing movies. So, by this day, November the 13th, year of our lord 2019, eight years after having started my career as a movie critic, I returned to one of my all time favorite movies to give it a closer look.

"I say my name is Danny Boy and I like to drink at night. I go down to the pub, wherein I buy myself a pint or three. I like to go out drinking, 'cause beer it is my life, until I come home and lay eyes upon my darling wife!" ~Floater
