1. I was very thirsty at my grandmother's house when I was a child. At that time, the yellow light was always used and it didn't work. I was so thirsty that I ran to the kitchen to pick up the water and drank it. After drinking it, I found that it was very special. It was disgusting to drink and I didn't know what it was. I fell on the spot, and I still feel disgusting when I think about it!

It's an abandoned bus station located in a rougher part of the city. It was built in 1985. A mournful spirit is said to haunt the premises. Rumor has it a serial killer once lurked here. The bus station was eerily quiet, even for the middle of the night. The only sound that could be heard was the occasional gust of wind that whistled through the broken windows.

The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. "The incense and flame might just attract a Venus Dragonfly," Entomologist Joseph Keintz informed us.

Moving Day Back in the early 2000's my husban, kidsand I moved in to a four bedroom house located in the suburbs. The excitement of moving in to our own home after a four year break living with family members was an absolute blessing. Not that we did not enjoy living with family but its not the same as having your own home. We had lost our condo a four years prior to that so family helped us out and I believe we got a little too comfortable.

Every year for my birthday, my mom and dad send me old home videos, they transfer them from a VHS to a disk so I can watch them on my TV. My birthday is tomorrow so I've been on the lookout for a package. We didn't have any videos of me before I was a year old, my dad said it was because they didn't think to film videos before then, they always hate how late they started filming but I'm just glad they started to begin with.

Gory horror films are abundant. The genre seems to have hit some sort of renascence in the 21st century. Yet, these films do not phase me too much. Instead, I’ve always found the most freaky and disturbing films are dystopian and callous; the type of films that are almost set in reality, but not quite; something is off, there is an unease about the entire film, playing on your mind, putting your soul on edge.

We can see practically anything we want on the Internet, including gore and shock photos, snuff videos, and XXX-porn. When we turn on the TV, it's more of a safe space, free from the horrid nature the ‘net is known for. TV programs limit the type of scenes they’ll show and the really hardcore stuff that makes it to cable TV has nothing on the ‘net. The following deaths that occurred on live TV shocked the nation.
True Crime WriterPublished 2 years ago in HorrorWhy do we like horror films?
There are various answers to that question but I think most of the answers are linked to the way we live today. In the developed world, people live in such safe and cushioned environments, that a lot of them are very unlikely to experience strong emotions like fear or emotional pain in their daily lives. After an adrenaline rush people can feel happy and relaxed, so being in a cinema and experiencing a scary movie is like simulating dealing with a real life threat in fake circumstances and also then simulating the reward felt after that experience. It could be therapeutic because it could suggest to a viewer, that some of our fears are not as real as we imagine them to be, or that threats in real life are not always as hard to deal with as we first thought.

Junior High School was a pain as it was but being picked on constantly was another story. There were two girls who were always alone and kept to themselves, one was Kathleen Johnson and the other was me, Samantha Pierce. Kathleen was picked on the hardest by three mean girls: Joann, Jolene, and Josephine. The three J’s as they were called. The five of us had the same classes for most of the year since school started in August. Now we just came back from Winter Vacation.

The real Annabelle versus the movie We all know of the famous possessed or haunted dolls that have inundated our lives with their disturbing stories plastered throughout the Internet. They have not only had movies based on their havoc-causing days but have their own occult following. Annabelle, the seemingly innocent-looking Raggedy Anne doll, is the first that would come to anyone's mind. Annabelle, a doll purchased in the 1970s, was given to a young lady named Donna. Soon after, the doll started to exhibit possessed characteristics, like moving around the place by itself and leaving childlike letters written in crayon. When the doll left scratch marks on a friend after spending the evening, they contacted the Warrens to assess the situation. They concluded that the doll was not possessed but instead was used as a conduit for a demon who would eventually inhabit one of the apartment occupants. The idea was to use the doll to take control of a person finally. The Warrens spoiled this plan by locking away this raggedy Anne doll in a glass case to prevent the demon that possesses the doll from escaping and rendering devastation on any other unsuspecting soul.

Im so close to something, it’s like I can see it, taste it. But Goddamn it, it’s so far away. If I just had the money to get myself ahead, I could be free. These are all the thoughts that Tom kept swirling in his head while he was walking to his less than accommodating job. Tom spent most of his life dreaming and wishing for something major to happen. It never does. He just keeps wishing and dreaming, and losing hope, each waking moment. This particular morning he was running late and decided to catch the bus rather than walk. Why risk losing a shitty paying job that was keeping him from living on the street? There’s something both mesmerizing and trauma inducing about riding the bus. The mesmerizing part was the people that you encounter on public transportation. The trauma inducing part was the people that you encounter on public transportation. Tom, filled with anxiety, finds a seat, and plops down with so much force. There’s a squish sound. The seat is wet, most likely urine from either a child or a grown man child. He looks under the seat and yells “fuck my life not today”. While looking down he notices a book, it’s covered in the foreign liquid but for some reason Tom is drawn to it.

Media consumption is an exercise in associations. When you finish watching a new movie or show, the memories you formed follow you to the next piece of media you consume. (Accurately speaking, the process doesn't stop; it's the next piece, and the next, and the next). The more media you consume, the bigger this web of impressions and experiences becomes. The bigger the web becomes, the more connections you're able to propagate. You start to find conceptual similarities between the media pieces that attract you, and as time progresses, your ability to communicate these similarities improves. This ability is foundational to the art of creating an effective, associative media recommendation: the art of 'if this, then that.' In this essay, it's precisely what I hope to do. My media choice is a lesser-known YouTube series whose creator goes by the username, 'Fascinating Horror.' Henceforth, I will use his username to refer directly to the series.
