Waiting
An elusive memory that had always found its way into the back of my mind, catching me completely unawares, had turned my stomach from the knotted corpse of its former self into the disaster forcibly regurgitating itself simply to comply with the nausea following. An empty stomach had a very simple flaw to it, one that could be compared to the human mind. With nothing left in it to fill it with basic needs, in the case of the mind compassion and purpose itself being these basic needs, the stomach will begin to eat its and tear itself apart to consume the nutrients necessary to stay alive. And so the human brain fails to find its motivation for the mundane, it also fails to maintain its grasp on reality. Its need to keep some sort of life within a poorly functioning system toppling over itself.

How to let go, to hold on?... Trust in some kind of pivot. Spilled milk sours... Today something new . The morning or night required some inspiration. Those long curtains in front of that massive bay window looking out over the entire city had not opened since the day Dani shut down. A very accomplished “Dj Dani” know to the rest of the world. More than a bit of a shut in these days though. Music was important ,there was a commitment to always having the best soundtrack. Dani ruled The Speakeasy nights!

The Real Horror is Bad Writing
My fascination with horror, twists, and thrillers began with the story “A Rose for Emily”, by William Faulkner. For those of you who haven’t read it, the story is about a woman still mourning the death of her husband after ten years. The story maintains a consistently spooky theme, until the twist is revealed: the woman kept her husbands decomposing corpse in her bed until the day she died and was found lying next to his skeleton. I remember slamming the book of short stories shut with a loud gasp and rushing from my room, goose bumps forming on my skin with a delightful shiver. Faulkner wove a fascinating tale, using several simple elements to formulate a gripping thriller.

'Brahms: The Boy II' Movie Review
Brahms: The Boy II is a fairly loose sequel to The Boy from 2016. After a traumatic experience, young Jude (Christopher Convery) is rendered mute. His parents (Katie Holmes, Owain Yeoman) decide to move to what was the guest house on a grand estate; the same estate formerly occupied by the Heelshire family in the first film. Jude finds the doll, Brahms, in the woods behind the house, and he quickly becomes attached to the doll. But strange, sinister things begin happening around the house, and nobody can figure out who's doing them.

The Perfection (2018)
All that time with Anton, the practice, the performances, the pressure to be perfect. Whenever I read newsflashes about films that make people suffer from migraine attacks and even make them sick, my curiosity is immediately awakened. The final verdict can go two ways. Or the film indeed has an ingeniously elaborated story and is provided with images the average stomach can’t bear. Or it’s the umpteenth overrated movie of which you ask yourself afterward “Who on earth made such statements?“. Are those people who’ve never seen a similar film as “The Perfection“? Are they film lovers who limit themselves to innocent rom-coms? Or supporters of superficial films such as “The Sound of Music“? No idea. In any case, I couldn’t find any nauseating fragments or rancid footage in this Netflix Original. But that doesn’t mean I thought it was a terrible movie. On the contrary. “The Perfection” contains a cleverly put together story, some successful acting, and a surprising denouement. So, highly recommended.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Polaroid' (2019)
It's weird that I ended up watching this movie right after the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street (Elm Str). They have a lot of odd similarities. I think the person who wrote this movie, might have been trying to come up with a new adaption on the Elm Str. concept, and just phoned it in. I mean, a child murderer, with supernatural powers, uses them within a very strict mythos, to murder the children of the people who killed him.

Death welcomed me. Cold. Expressionless. Dark. Then light overtook the darkness bursting forth around me like a freshly struck match. It was not warm, but blinding and painful. I struggled against it, some part of my mind fought for the darkness, the only tether to the world I had known. That tether snapped and I was pulled into the light and out again.
