The First COVID-19 Vaccine
It is true, what you have heard about there being a cure and a vaccine for COVID-19 is true. However, things in the laboratory did not quite go as planned. The Lab that was hired to find the vaccine is called Brilliant Minds Lab. I know because I was the one who had created the vaccine and it was in my lab. I was working alongside some of the most brillant minds such as Dr. Theodore Hustly, Dr. Amanda Johnston, and lastly Dr. Fredrick O'Mally. All from highly esteemed ivy league schools such as Oxford, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Columbia. All of them were hired for their interests in science and finding the cure. However, things went horribly and terribly wrong.

Lead Us Into Temptation
Shiloh was dangerously close to hyperventilating. The staggered gasps were nearly louder than the stumbling, wobbly sprint down the dark hallway of the abandoned home. Glancing back briefly over her shoulder, she almost slipped on an accent rug casually placed at the clawed feet of a table placed before the giant window- the fork in the road, as it were; head swinging wildly back and forth in indecision, the light from a candle in a window just to the left glinted off the blood on the slips of skin bared in the gashes of her sweater, and off the face of a very old-fashioned wristwatch.

Free Me. Fear Me. Hear Me.
A candle sits in the window, softly flickering as shadows pass by on the outside. She stares out curiously. She is unsure of what to do in the moment. She looks around the dimly lit room to find a door on the opposite wall of the candle. She cautiously moves towards the door. Before she can open the door, she finds herself in an empty space.

The Night In My Brain
I spend a casual day at work and spend time with my friends enjoying and having fun after work. As soon as I got home I changed my clothes and laid on my bed and it did not take me long to fall asleep. That’s when weird things started to happen in my dream world. I happen to find myself in a big room with shelves filled with a lot of folders. While scanning the room with my eyes standing at the door, I was anticipating where I am and why I am here. After I calmed myself, I made my first step and realized that the room is divided by three shelves separated by a window with a candle in it.

Immortal || Chapter 23
Farther into the morning it was quiet and peaceful. Natalie was in the back garden reading a book. My uncle, I haven't seen him since breakfast, Mrs. Havens was in her room last time I checked, and myself... I was walking around the house thinking of a way to get rid of Jacob once and for all. He was becoming a pain. And were those servers his henchmen? Did my uncle have anything to do with all that was happening? Did he really let Jacob go? Perhaps I should confront Uncle about my thoughts on the whole matter.

Beyond The Bay Window
I stood in the middle of a spacious, inviting living room filled with various furniture around me. There was a couch a few feet in front of me, a pair of armchairs on either side of it, a book shelf against the wall to my left that was connected to the staircase near the entrance. I stared into flickering red and orange flames that danced within a fireplace of brown and beige stones. Above the mantle hung a painted portrait of a man in a black suit sporting a maroon tie, his brown hair cut short and styled. Grey eyes stared back at me. A crystal chandelier hung directly above me, warmly lit.

No One Ever Visits...
The house is a total wreck - not that I’m expecting company. No one ever visits, and if they do it’s not for long. There isn’t even any electricity, the only source of light being the candle I burn on the window sill every evening. Every surface is covered with dust, and every corner filled with cobwebs.

Echoes
The stag’s eyes caught the glint of the flashlight as it ghosted through the yard. “What in the hell,” he breathed, as his own blurry eyes blinked open, squinting to get a better look. That was a stag, alright, standing in the middle of his yard, eyes fixed towards him and staring straight down the beam. Big.

Dirt and Gasoline
I open my eyes, gasping, suddenly aware of how cold a night it was. I’m in a shallow dirt hole. The night looms heavy on my shoulders as I sit upright. I…can’t remember anything. I don’t know who or where I am. Looking around, I see I am just on the edge of some wooded area. There are scuff marks all around me, as if something was dragged here, and footprints leading away and into the woods suggest someone took off in a hurry. I cough, spitting out dirt that had caked in my mouth. Gross.
