The Doll Head Incident
Landry House was one of the St. Charles homes that always seemed to have the power to draw tourists from the streetcar. To get them to pull the cord that rings the bell, getting the conductor to apply the brakes. To get them off, to cross over from the neutral ground for photos, and to approach with reverence, as if they were nearing the casket at a wake. But no one was around now.

CHAPTER TEN: DRAGON LINES Alaska – Late Winter 2011 The flight back to the research camp was bittersweet. On the one hand, it was exciting that their research had produced results that could be tested in the field, but on the other hand, the level of danger that the team would now be working under was severe. Wasi felt the tension of the impending escalation of danger deep within his being. He watched Sade who seemed unaware of how much things were about to change. She seemed happy and excited, two emotions he rarely witnessed in her. This change in her personality was attractive and enticing, and he very much envied the naivety that she displayed in her enthusiasm.

CHAPTER NINE: UNWANTED ATTENTION Anchorage, Alaska - 2011 The afternoon light faded to twilight as Wasi and Sade made their way through Anchorage in separate vehicles. Wasi was ahead of Sade in his rented truck. He constantly glanced up at the rearview mirror to track her progress. He was nervous about what just happened as he was unsure of its legitimacy. On the other hand, if Sade was right and electricity was the solution, then it meant that change was rapidly approaching him. He hated this part of an assignment as it was intense, full of uncertainties, bloody, and destructive. These realities ran through his mind, ricocheting off the sound of his breaks squealing as he pulled to a stop at a red light.

Halloween Costumes
I was running down the street as I had forgotten my wallet at the cash desk in the Halloween costume shop. I was hoping that I'd find it there untouched or behind the counter. How could I be so forgetful and with important things too. The other day I forgot to take my keys out of the car and the doors were unlocked. Anyone who tried could have gotten in and drove off. Thankfully I spotted my wallet on the cash desk and ran to it to check if everything was there and with great relief, I saw that it was all there. I didn't have a lot of money in there, so that was the least of my concerns. I was worried about losing my ID and my family pictures.

She was pregnant with her first child; he was a successful bonds tradesman on Wall Street. It was 1989, a successful man with a budding new family needed to find an emblem of his success. It wouldn’t be gold cuff links or a new Rolex watch, this time he would search for a house. A house to accommodate his first-born child and beautiful young bride but also show the world how well he’d done. And he had certainly done well. But he hadn’t heard the rumors, knew nothing of the local lore in Nyack, New York, he was perfectly oblivious and blissfully unaware when he stroked a check for 32,500 on a down payment for the stately mansion overlooking the Hudson. Perhaps he wouldn’t have minded if he knew, perhaps he would have dismissed the stories of poltergeists and hostile ghosts. In fact, it was likely he would, but he sued because he wasn’t given the option to.

The Creek

Cryptozoological Beasts of North America
Cryptozoology. What is it? Well it’s defined as “the search for and study of creatures whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated.” Think things like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster or the Chupacabra. These creatures have cemented their places in local legend, but have yet to find a place in the scientific community. Cryptozoology is commonly thought of as pseudoscience, but the researchers and investigators who have made it their life mission to prove the existence of these creatures would likely beg to differ.
