Wanting
The small cabin seemed to get smaller and smaller to Dan Fields. For the past six days, he had been stuck in the cabin waiting for the monstrous snow to melt and free him from the frozen prison. Why did he run off to the mountains in the middle of February? At least he was smart enough to stock up on water. He had also chopped up enough firewood the first day he had arrived. What he didnโt have was enough food. Even though the fire was cozy, it was not enough to keep him warm. Wearing his hunting coat and gloves, he got up from the oval rug in front of the fireplace. Opening the fridge, he eyed the one remaining case of water, next to a slice of cheese, a bottle of bourbon and an open pack of hot dogs. He picked up the hot dogs, stopped and listened. Once again, he had the feeling that he was being watched. He was pretty sure cabin fever was the cause, but that did not ease his rising anxiety. He shook his head, opened the hot dogs and pulled out one of the floppy processed wieners. He threw the rest of the package back in the fridge and grabbed the bottle of bourbon. Settling back on his warm spot on the rug, he bit off half of his cold entrรฉe. So nice, he thought, to be able to eat without a nagging wife telling him to stop smacking his food. He was a man, he should be able to eat however he wanted. Too bad he had to be hundreds of miles away from his home to do it.

Down Worlders
๐๐ฑ๐ช๐น๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป 1- ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฎ ๐๐ธ๐พ ๐ผ๐ธ๐ธ๐ท I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing wondering who could be calling me at three in the morning. "๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฒ๐ผ ๐ถ๐ ๐ซ๐ธ๐ผ๐ผ ๐ฌ๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ฒ๐ท๐ฐ ๐ถ๐ฎ?" I thought to myself. I pick up and what he told me changed my life, " Thanks for informing me, Victor" I said with a pain in my chest and tears in my eyes then hung up the phone. It's that call we all dread of getting, that turns your whole world upside down and makes your heart feel like it's stopped beating. The call to inform you that you've lost a loved one. My heart sank to my stomach and unable to keep my balance I dropped to my knees. Tears run down my face like a river and soon my eyes become so swollen to the point where I can barely open them, and my vision goes blurry. All my memories with her come rushing backfilling my head. I remember when I first met her, Jessie was shy but she was good at what she did. I remember the first time fighting alongside her, I remember it all like its yesterday. I bawl even harder taking in the fact that ill never see her smile again or hear her laugh. Oh, what id do right now just to hear her yelling at me. Our job isn't safe in fact, its the complete opposite. We live a dangerous life all the myths you've heard as a kid about vampires, werewolves, warlocks, demons and angels are all true. We call them ๐๐ธ๐๐ท๐๐ธ๐ป๐ต๐ญ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ. Only a group of people know they exist, and our job is to protect the mundanes. We're called ๐๐พ๐ท๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ช๐ป๐ด. Jessie was a hunter. The next day I had to find the strength and energy to get out of bed. Somehow I managed to throw on my clothes and go to work. When I get there my eyes meet Jessie's desk and the empty chair behind it. The room felt cold and empty, and I can't stomach the fact that she's gone. Overwhelmed I went outside to get some air, I was later joined by my partner/best friend Sasha. Sasha is tall, slim thick and beautiful. She has beautiful dark skin that glows and long black curly hair. Sasha has these gorgeous emerald eyes that you can get lost in, I swear I would be all over her if it wasn't for me being straight.

Dark Corner Closet
Shadows crawled across the walls, the safety of the streetlight mingling with the trees to cast warnings on the floor of what will come to get Johnny in the middle of the night. The claws and teeth of unknown beasts and monsters cast through the window crept along the floor, faded before they slid to the middle of the room. The only other source of light was the narrow sliver cast by the open bedroom door. Johnny tried to focus on the light, his rebellious eyes drawn back, past the scratching claws of the beasts and monsters, into the dark corner of the room.

Journal Of An Immortal - Part 3
Tuesday โ January 5, 2021 Moving forward, I need to always remind myself to never go anywhere on New Yearโs Eve. I knew I should have remained home and celebrated alone. I did not think that I was going to run into someone from my past. No, I am not talking about Dr. Xavier Clarke. I am praying that I will never see him again. This was someone else.

Jasper loves his toys
My godson Jasper loves his toys. "Love" might not be a strong enough word. He obsesses over his toys. We all have one childhood keepsake that holds a special significance for us. My godson has a city, built painstakingly over a number of years. Cobbled together from Legos, tinker toys, and what looks like it could be a small Barbie dream house, it represents about 4 city blocks, and it would be impressive if it didn't absolutely terrify me.

The Rise of the Shonen-Horror Genres
In the past few years, the horror genre has been quite successful in both the manga and anime world. Horror-tinged Shonen like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man has been all the rage. Wildly popular series like Bleach, which was focused on monster-hunting, didnโt rely on gore or spookiness in its storytelling. However, the recent Shonen Jump horror series have been paradigm-shifting as they are completely changing the manga world.

Grimoire of Adair Jones
22/06 Finally, itโs Friday. I do like a lot of the journalism courses and I definitely feel like Iโm learning a lot more from these courses than when I was in high school. Especially the courses that go through different cultures. I think theyโre really interesting and it makes me realise how little I know about the world. It sounds like something most people would be afraid of, but I donโt know, itโs a good realization for me. I havenโt really been able to talk about this to many people at uni. Just because Iโm a Taiwanese student studying at a British university, people just assume that I must have a good understanding of different cultures. Well, I guess I have a broader view compared to those people who run these so-called โAsian restaurantโ. I donโt know what they are cooking but itโs definitely not Asian food. I canโt wait to go back to Taiwan and eat mumโs cooking. But anyway, the lectures are two hours long! I canโt focus for that long even if I like the content.
