“You are going to think I’m crazy, but I swear that I hear someone walking around upstairs when no one is even home,” an apprehensive individual tells me over the phone as I conduct a client interview for a possible paranormal investigation. You hear many interesting things in the field of paranormal investigation, the most common of encounters begins with the phrase, “You’re going to think I’m crazy, but….” To most, even the possibility that they may have had a paranormal encounter is more than they can fathom. This encounter often comes after months or years of activity occurring around the individual, that was quickly explained away as something else until something happened that they just could not figure out.

Deeper, deeper we descended into the abyss. Before exiting topside, I stood on top of the mound of red clay and sand that accumulated from weeks of digging and watched the last of the sun drip into the horizon. It was foolish of me to hope the last of the day’s light found its way into this cavern.

Horror story of a greedy man
Chris Stephens and his son, Mike, watched the soccer World Cup on TV. His wife, Stella, was preparing dinner for the family. Suddenly the doorbell rang couple of times before John opened it. Lawrence Matthews entered with his wife Lisa. He was a friend of their family. Cole and David have known each other since childhood. Lisa was searching Stella. Chris said, "You'll find her in the kitchen." Lisa smiled and said to him thanks. Lawrence taped him on the shoulder and said, "Hey, dude! We have not met each other for a long time. I hope you haven't forgotten me." Chris stared at him and added, "I thought it was the other way around. What brought you here?"

Hunter
It was October 12, 2020. The trees were bare of any leaves and the sunlight blanketed the ground and the trees casted their shadows. I waited in my tree stand in front of a small clearing near my cabin in the very hilly region of Ohio close to the Zaleski National Forest area in Hocking Hills. From the edge of the woods, the leaves were crunching, turning my head a sounder of feral hogs came into view. This was deer bow season, but hogs I can take at any time and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get a hog today. I picked up my bow and waited for the right moment. A sow started to root closer to me, so I set my sights for her and drew my bow back. But before I could release the arrow, the sow lifted her head up to the forest edge. Her nose was moving up and her ears were held high, and suddenly, she squealed and dashed back into the woods followed by the rest. I sat there and watched, lowering my bow while shaking my head. But then I thought, “What could’ve scared a group of hogs?” as I was climbing down from my stand, I decided to walk in the direction the sow sniffed into to get an idea of what scared them. As I walked through the woods I was thinking it was either a person or a black bear that scared them, but I stopped. Something on the ground caught my eye. In the mud, I saw footprints, but these had five toes, each was somewhat separated and showed claw marks. What really caught my eye was the fact that they didn’t look like paws in that there was no space separating the toes from the pads. When I lowered my hand into one it dwarfed it. At that moment, I noticed the light began to get dimmer, and moved my head behind me, and started to shake a little, so I figured it was time to head back to the cabin.

IM-MORTAL
Ma told me that touching hearts was the meaning of life. I’d asked her about it after Pa died, after the men was lowering him into the dirt. The ropes was creaking, and I kept thinking about what if they dropped him down, down all the way and he never stopped falling until he hit heck. Ma was still crying and wiping her eyes with a tissue until they were angry red like when she catches me in the kitchen when I’m supposed to be in bed. She was grabbing my hand, and it was real sweaty like my back because the sun was real hot. I wanted my hand back, but I knew she needed it more so I let her keep squeezing it and sweating on it even after it started to tingle. I waited until the night time, when Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Greg and Maw-Maw and Pop-Pop all finally left and it was quiet except for Ma cleaning up the dishes, and I asked her.
