The Lights
“I’ll trade you for the heart-shaped locket,” the marauder tried to strike a deal after I caught him going through my barn. He was alone; I had watched him approach for at least half a mile, so I wasn’t worried in the slightest about dealing with him. He’d even come during the daylight, if you could call it that, the sky was always an unnerving color, so I knew his plan was not well thought out, more just desperate.

You Conjure it, You Bought it...
“You conjure it, you bought it!” is a tagline that I often like to use when lecturing on the paranormal in my role as a paranormal investigator. I know that it sounds mean to some as most do not deliberately try to let lose an unfriendly entity in their home, or even worse, a demonic entity, however, it is an easy thing to do. This concept applies not just to Spirit boards ad Ouija boards, but also to known “haunted” items or objects removed from known haunted locations.

The Roots of Negative Paranormal Activity
There are some very basic guidelines to keeping good energy in your house and bad energy out of your home. Let’s take a very surface level look at this on the paranormal side of things. When I tell people that I’m a paranormal investigator I’m often met with the phrase that I’m “just inviting bad things in.” In truth it’s very rare to encounter anything truly negative in a paranormal investigation. I have been a part of hundreds of paranormal investigations and I can count the times on one hand that I have actually encountered anything negative or evil. In my experience negative or evil activity has been directly related to occult rituals, black magic practitioners, and Spirit boards or Ouija boards. Most of the time the haunt is actually someone’s relative just stopping by for a visit.

So, you think your house is haunted but don't want to tell anyone...
“You are going to think I’m crazy, but I swear that I hear someone walking around upstairs when no one is even home,” an apprehensive individual tells me over the phone as I conduct a client interview for a possible paranormal investigation. You hear many interesting things in the field of paranormal investigation, the most common of encounters begins with the phrase, “You’re going to think I’m crazy, but….” To most, even the possibility that they may have had a paranormal encounter is more than they can fathom. This encounter often comes after months or years of activity occurring around the individual, that was quickly explained away as something else until something happened that they just could not figure out.
