THE HISTORY OF HAMA AND ISREAL WAR.

Israel has announced a state of war in response to a significant terrorist attack carried out by Palestinian militants. The origin of this conflict can be traced back to Israel's military occupation of the West Bank and its blockade of the Gaza Strip. To better understand the situation, let's revisit World War I, during which Britain took control of the region.

In that era, the region had an Arab majority and a Jewish minority. An Arab Rebellion and continuous Jewish migration took place, coupled with the Holocaust during World War II, which resulted in a substantial surge in Jewish migration. In 1947, the United Nations, with Australia playing a pivotal role, opted to partition the British mandate for Palestine into a Jewish State and an Arab State. While the Jewish faction agreed to this proposal, the Arab faction rejected it, initiating a one-year war as Britain withdrew.

Throughout the years, Israel extended its territory beyond the boundaries agreed upon by the UN, resulting in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, a period commonly referred to as the Nakba or catastrophe. By the war's conclusion, Israel held dominion over all the land, with the exception of Gaza (under Egypt's control), the West Bank (administered by Jordan), and the Golan Heights (governed by Syria).

In the Six-Day War of 1967, Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights, leading to the occupation of extensive Palestinian territory, a move deemed illegal by the UN. These areas are now recognized as the occupied territories, where Israeli civilians reside for political, religious, or economic motives, triggering conflicts as Palestinians are displaced and voice their protests.

In 2005, Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip, yet it retains authority over its airspace, sea, and key crossings for the transportation of goods. Conditions in Gaza remain difficult, primarily due to the blockade, contributing to a substantial unemployment rate, a decline in health systems, and challenges in infrastructure.

In the late 1980s, the emergence of Hamas added complexity to the situation. Designated as a terrorist group by numerous countries, including Australia, Hamas aims for the destruction of Israel. Despite winning democratic elections in 2006, it declined to renounce violence against Israel, leading to its isolation from the international community. In 2007, Hamas took control of Gaza, and although Israel withdrew, it continued to occupy the West Bank.

Jerusalem, holding significance for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, remains a focal point of contention, particularly during major religious holidays. The region has been fraught with tension for years, and recent attacks suggest a potential escalation of the conflicts.

Hama’s HQ hidden under Gazza’s largest hospital

I will present intelligence indicating that Hamas utilizes hospitals as part of their infrastructure. This information has been shared with the intelligence community, including classified materials that provide additional evidence regarding hospitals being used by Hamas and the status of fuel in Gaza hospitals.

Let's start with Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the largest hospital in Gaza with over 1,500 beds and 4,000 staff. The red marks on the map indicate buildings associated with Hamas, which are strategically located near hospitals, including Shifa. Hamas cynically uses hospitals as shields for their underground terror complex.

Shifa Hospital, in particular, houses Hamas command and control cells, operating in different departments such as the radiology room. The hospital serves as a base for launching terrorist activities, including rocket attacks. Hamas has underground tunnels accessible from within the hospital, providing shelter and escape routes.

Terrorists move freely within Shifa and other hospitals in Gaza. We have concrete evidence that hundreds of terrorists sought refuge in hospitals after a particular incident. Hamas exploits hospitals as shields, endangering both Israeli and Gazan civilians by operating from these facilities.

This tactic is not limited to Shifa; it's a systematic approach. Hamas terrorists operate in hospitals because they know the IDF distinguishes between terrorists and civilians. Israel targets terrorists, while Hamas intentionally targets Israeli and Gazan civilians.

Additionally, we have evidence of Hamas stealing fuel, confirming its use for their infrastructure. The recordings provided demonstrate Hamas' exploitation of destruction and death in Gaza for anti-Israel propaganda, using Gazan civilians as human shields.

We'll continue to share more materials and classified information with the intelligence community. When medical facilities are used for terror purposes, they may lose their protection from attack under international law. The IDF is committed to minimizing harm to civilians, calling on them to move to safety, and providing humanitarian assistance in collaboration with Egypt and the United States.

Israel's objectives are clear: to defeat Hamas and ensure the safe return of its citizens.
