The Origin of the Green Lantern: Jessica Cruz
Jessica Cruz is the most recent Green Lantern of Earth, making there a total of 6 human Green Lanterns that protect Earth. That is way too many Green Lanterns to protect one planet, but I digress because Jessica is actually a very interesting character that I think many people will be able to relate to. Well... I don't know how many people will relate to her origin story.
Just a guyPublished 6 years ago in Geeks'Avengers: Infinity War' Things Missed (Spoilers!)
Avengers: Infinity War is the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the third installment of the Avengers saga. Classically, the films in this universe have been filled with Easter eggs that link to the comics, the other films in the franchise, and life outside of the films. For example, at the start of Infinity War, the “IO” in the Marvel Studios logo has been changed to a ten to mark the tenth year of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the first Iron Man being released on the 2nd of May, 2008.

Everyone loves superhero movies these days. Marvel cranks out at least five every year, with DC desperately trying to catch up by releasing even more. Stories from comic books are experiencing the most cinematic success in history. However, that does not mean all of these movies are home runs. A lot of them swing for the fences and fall way short of expectations.

Kevin JacksonPublished 6 years ago in GeeksComcast Should Keep Disney From Buying Fox
Hallelujahs were called when news hit that Disney would buy Twentieth Century Fox. Just knowing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be complete led fanboys to rejoice. Allen D. LyonsPublished 6 years ago in GeeksFilm Review: '211' Is One of Nicolas Cage's Least Inspiring Films of 2018
Nicolas Cage keeps heading on a downward spiral— cranking out mediocre indie B-straight-to-DVD and VOD films no less than a span of five movies at a time in five months just to pay the bills. They keep going under the radar and are not films audiences are interested in viewing these days. It’s such a travesty because he is a very talented actor, but he just hasn’t been cast in the right film role that really captivates audiences.

If you have seen the hit TV show, Claws, you might know Andrea Sooch. She plays Riva, a crime boss for the Russian Mob. She has also guest starred on Law & Order, Taxi Brooklyn, Gotham, Boardwalk Empire, Broad City, and The Blacklist. In addition to being an actor, she is also a Drama Therapist and is the co-creator of the ACTing Cure Group Model. In fact, I interned with her at AHRC, an organization that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where she used tools of drama therapy and positive interventions to maximize potentials in a therapeutic recreational setting, and to help people flourish.
Kevin HigginsPublished 6 years ago in GeeksFacing True Despair: 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy have faced genocidal zealots, cosmic Gods, and vengeance consumed warriors, and we as the audience have watched alongside them. So after all the victories, close calls, and the occasional genuine sacrifice, why does Infinity War work?
Peter RandallPublished 6 years ago in Geeks10 Times Celebrities Hated Their Biopics
Some will never agree with the way they are portrayed in a film and will go to any extent to prove their anger. In some cases, it's difficult for the actor to conform to their character's morality and behavior. More often than not, the telling of a life story on film only spawns more stories.
Katana HaleyPublished 6 years ago in GeeksThe Main Man's Movie: 10 Actors Who Could Play Lobo in the DCEU
News has broke that the fan favorite intergalactic mercenary Lobo is set to have his own solo movie directed by Michael Bay, and loyal followers of the DC Universe couldn't be more ecstatic. Lobo isn't just one of the most powerful characters in DC Comics lore, he's one of the funniest and most insane, and that could make for a movie that rivals the likes of Deadpool. No matter how good or bad the movie will be, the fact remains that you need the right person to bring Lobo to life, and I think I have a few choices that might fit the bill.

Jonathan SimPublished 6 years ago in GeeksGolden Days of Hollywood
In the early days of Hollywood when everything was just coming together, actors and actresses were adored by fans and they all seemed to put them on pedestals. Two such film actors were a much-admired couple: Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. When they got married and went to London, England for their honeymoon on June 21st, 1920, they were greeted by lots of admiring fans. Since 1919, Pickford and Fairbanks had been business partners who got together with Charlie Chaplin and director D.W. Griffith to set up United Artists. After the couple got married, Fairbanks gave Pickford a 22 room estate as a wedding present, which included the first swimming pool in Beverly Hills located in Los Angeles, California. They named the property “Pickfair.”
