You're in your thirties, you wish you could go back in time, and you need some cheering up.
If you're anything like me, you tend to spiral down into the dark places of your mind once in a while. One negative thought entrains another, and before you realize it, you're making the list of everything that's wrong in your life and in the world at large without being able to stop yourself.
If You're Awaiting Amazon’s Invincible, Then Watch These Animated Films.
Will there come a time when animated film directors earn the honor of name recognition? Will there even be a Fellini, a Scorcese, a Fritz Lang, a Charles Burnett, a Godard, a Hitchcock or Stanley Kubrick of animation? Animated film hasn't earned the appreciation it deserves in the western world. The same feelings and worlds we access with live-action cinema can be found within the realm of animated cinema. In fact, in the right director's hand, or should I say eyes, an animated film can take us to places beyond our imaginations.

Beyoncé Turned My Secret Shame Into a Worldwide Phenomenon
I can't believe I'm sharing this. The ONLY reason I'm talking about this now is because there is money on the line. I'm entering this story into the "Add to Cart" Challenge - Vocal editors, please stay near. If this story doesn't win or even place among the top three, I will be needing this yanked and scrubbed from the internet thank you very much.
Jide OkonjoPublished 3 years ago in Geeks If you love Him; then I think you’ll like Her
I wanted to enter the “if this” then “that” challenge, but I don’t watch a lot of television or movies. However, I do read. In fact, I’m a voracious reader; I’ll typically read three to five books per week. As I was looking around my personal library, I discovered that I read primarily by author. If I like a particular author, I’ll read everything he or she writes.
R. E. PerryPublished 3 years ago in Geeks5 Marvel Women Who Don't Get Enough Attention
Before the pandemic hit, San Diego was the leading city of all things Comic-Con; fans near and far would flood Downtown San Diego to showcase their devotion to all thing's comics. From people dressing up as their superheroes to A-List celebrities starting their press runs on the next blockbuster Marvel film, it's a world I didn't understand and found somewhat intimidating. The closest thing I've seen to a comic were the ones in the newspaper.
teisha lesheaPublished 3 years ago in GeeksCan We Stop Praising 'Lost in Translation'?
I was an undergrad when everyone was touting Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation as artistic and edgy. So, like every other kid in my dorm at the time, I tapped into the campus DC++, added it to my download queue, and gave it a watch.
Al OpenbookPublished 3 years ago in GeeksWhat Netflix Show You Should Watch Based on Your Favorite Character from “The Office”
The hearts of Netflix customers across the U.S. collectively broke when “The Office” was plucked from its virtual shelves. A casualty of the streaming wars that grips our modern world. Whether you were a self-soother viewer who watched “The Office” to fall into the familiar crevices of “that’s what she said” jokes, “glances to camera” and sweet Jim and Pam moments, if you were a first timer who is wildly late to the party looking to see what the hype was about, if you were in need of a good laugh, or if you wanted to jolt yourself back into the pre-pandemic times and remember the in-person office dynamics, you were likely affected by this.
Lissy KlatchkoPublished 3 years ago in GeeksLearning to Glide
I decided to intersperse this story with gifs from one of my all-time favorite movies: Miss Congeniality, because, well because I can (nah nah nee boo boo) and Vocal let's me be who I am. Okay, so let us start, shall we?
Corinne JenkinsPublished 3 years ago in GeeksEither I'm having a COVID fever dream or "Space Jam 2" is real and important
I must be unwell. Perhaps I should get tested for COVID-19. See, I think I’m having a fever dream, I’ve been seeing things that just can’t be so. Remember like a decade ago there was that joke going around the internet that there ought to be a Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James? What a ridiculous idea that would be. I mean, Space Jam was a movie that was largely enjoyed ironically, a so-bad it’s good film. I mean the movie was based on a Nike commercial.
Buck HardcastlePublished 3 years ago in GeeksThe Modern Movie Lover's Guide to Black and White Movies
Black and white movies can be pretty challenging for the uninitiated to enjoy. They're old, devoid of color, and the characters sometimes talk funny. But don't let those factors detract you as classic films are also some of the most entertaining to watch. Oh, and did I tell you they're also rich in cinema history?
Chad VerzosaPublished 3 years ago in GeeksOscar Nominations 2021 — Thoughts, Snubs, & Predictions
After an unprecedented year for film, the 93rd Academy Awards are around the corner. Everything from the year 2020 (which wasn’t that much) to the first two months of 2021 were eligible for consideration, and the Oscar nominees are finally out.
Jonathan SimPublished 3 years ago in GeeksIf You're a Fan of Fight Club, Give The Boys a Shot
1999’s Fight Club is the epitome of a dark comedy. It gave us an apparently ordinary world where nothing was what it seemed, the hero of the story was fully obscured and it demonstrated the power that can be wielded by the average person. Fight Club is unapologetic, violent, gritty, twisted, and catches you off guard with its wholly obscene humour (the bag of fat, anyone?)
