Book Review

"To Kill A Mockingbird" was first published in 1960. It is a novel and was written by American literary writer Harper Lee. This novel is famous. With its first release, it was a huge success and won the Pulitzer Prize. The novel is now considered a classic of modern literature.

The novel is based on observations of the author's family and neighbors and bears a striking resemblance to what happened in 1936 in Monroeville, Alabama. The central character of the novel is the biography of a six-year-old named Jean-Louis.

Although the novel has humorous themes, it covers important issues such as racial discrimination and rape of the time, which is why the novel is still remembered by the people. Atticus Finch, the father of storyteller Jean-Louis, is considered by many readers to be an ideal and principled hero and a role model for a lawyer.

For a long time, "To Kill a Mockingbird" was the author's only work. However, before he died in 2015, the book was published as "Go Set a Watchman".

Harper Lee was born in 1926 in Monrovia, Alabama. He grew up to be the youngest of four siblings. Her first name, Nellie, was her grandmother's name spelled backward, and the name she used was initially adopted by Harper Lee. Lee's mother was a housewife and his father was a former newspaper editor, businessman, and lawyer.

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby was first published in 1925. It is written by F. Scott. Fitzgerald. The novel is a romantic drama and it is very popular. The American film was released in 2013 in the light of this novel. It stars popular actor Leonardo DiCaprio and is told by Toby Maguire. Popular actress Kerry Mulligan played the lead role.

Brief review

Nick Caraway is an alcoholic and has insomnia. She is being treated at a health care center. She is telling the doctor about her problem and is talking about herself with a lot of thought. She wants to go back to her past. The old days were making him nostalgic. He was telling a story of his life to the doctor.

After hearing these words, the doctor advised him to write the words of his life on white paper. But Nick was surprised and refused. But the doctor handed him a pen and paper and that was what Nick did. Nick once began to translate the words of his life into reality through a pen. While writing, those familiar days of 1912 began to float before his eyes.

Nick was going back to 1912 through his writing. When he was living permanently in a house on Long Island, USA The house was surrounded by vegetation and the sea flowing by. Nick used to live alone in his house in the winter and rainy seasons. But in the summer, when people would come to the beach and rejoice, Nick would see it from the porch of his house.

But sometimes Nick feels that someone is always watching him from behind. One day he saw her hiding from the window of the mansion next door and looking at him. This guy was the guy whose name was Gatsby. The man lives alone and spends most of his time partying and making noise.

Gradually, Nick became acquainted with Gatsby and developed a good friendship. Nick continues to receive invitations to various events. Gradually Nick came to know a lot of unknown facts about Gatsby. The more he knows, the more surprised he is. He may know some truths, which he has to act to hide.

Beloved Book

Tony Morrison from the United States wrote the novel "Beloved" in 1987. The novel tells the story of a slave family, in the context of the American Civil War. An envious spirit wanders in the house of the slave. The author writes the novel based on true events. In 1856, a slave named Margaret Garner escaped on a British highway.

The fugitive slave was to be arrested under the Fugitive Slaves Act of 1856. When Garner and her husband were attacked by U.S. marshals, Garner tried to kill her children, including her two-year-old daughter. Because Garner did not want his children to become slaves. Morrison went on to review Garner's history of blacks in 1974.

His novel won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 and was a finalist at the National Book Awards in 1987. A movie based on the novel was made in 1998. It was recognized as the best American fiction by a survey of writers and literary critics from 1981 to 2006.

After the publication of the novel Beloved in 1987, it became very popular The book was nominated for a National Book Prize but was not nominated

A total of 47 people, including many writers and critics, signed the letter, which was published in The New York Times Book Review on January 24, 1988. The novel was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 by Robert F. Kennedy won the Memorial Book Award, the Melcher Book Award, the Lindhurst Award Foundation Award, and more.

The novel became so popular that on 5 November 2019, BBC News published a list of their 109 books. Titled "The Most Inspiring", the novel "Beloved" is listed.
