Filler episodes can be a major source of annoyance to hardcore One Piece fans - and one of the main reasons why people drop the show altogether. But are they really all that bad? Are they really just boring fillers, or do they actually tie into the main plot in some way? How many filler episodes are there anyway? For new viewers who would like to know how to watch One Piece without filler, this complete filler episode list will tell you which episodes are filler, so you won’t miss out on any of the story!

Keep track of episodes from the filler episode list
If you’re a die-hard One Piece fan, you probably know all too well that there are a lot of fillers. You might be wondering what these fillers are and how they affect your favourite anime show? Fortunately, with The One Piece Filler List from Anime Guide, it’s easier than ever to keep track of your favourite filler episodes. The list features over one hundred episodes that were released after episode three hundred and fifty nine.

Understanding what filler episodes are
An anime filler is an episode that doesn’t progress through a story line. They may be standalone episodes, they may be episodes that were originally supposed to air after a previous episode but ended up being broadcast before it aired. The purpose of these episodes is to either give character development or to just give you something else to watch if there was no new storyline airing at that time.

Types of filler content
fluff, a new character, or world-building. And sometimes it’s just a random side story to give some light humor or action. There are times when fans like filler because it gives them some insight into their favorite characters’ pasts and they enjoy seeing more of that world. However, there are times when filler is so useless you wonder why they even bothered adding it to begin with.

Filler episodes sorted by arc chronology
Arlong Park, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Whiskey Peak/Little Garden, Baratie. After leaving Alabasta and arriving at Water 7, there’s no need to worry about any more filler episodes until later on in the series. Below is a list of filler arcs from Water 7 through Thriller Bark which you can safely skip if you want to watch only what happens in canon and nothing else!

New Fishman Island Arc
The New Fishman Island Arc begins when Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and Robin are forced to take a detour to Fishman Island after they lost their ship (and gained a mermaid) in a storm. Upon arriving, they meet up with Fukaboshi and his men and learn that Vander Decken is actually Hody Jones' son.

Punk Hazard Arc
The Punk Hazard Arc is one of many filler arcs that have occurred throughout the series. It involves Luffy, Nami, and their allies fighting against a group of Marines led by Vice Admiral Smoker. While it doesn’t contribute to major plot points or characters like Alabasta, it does give us several interesting developments for our main cast.

Whole Cake Island Saga
439-461 : The first set of filler takes place during Whole Cake Island, where Luffy and his gang end up in a giant cake on a desert island owned by Charlotte Linlin. This is one of those fan service episodes where we just get to see Luffy beat up all sorts of colorful characters and steal their Devil Fruit powers. It sounds weird, but you’ll definitely enjoy it if you’re a diehard fan.

Dressrosa Arc and the Return to Sabaody Arc
At last, fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief as long-awaited events have finally arrived. In episode 608 we are treated to a flashback that tells us what happened in Dressrosa between Zolo’s arrival and Luffy’s breaking into Arlong Park. It was a tough wait for fans but it is great to see some resolution here at last.
