Canadian Mental Health Association Discusses '13 Reasons Why'
13 Reasons Why continues to generate a lot of discussion for all who might be involved in watching it, and with good reason. It's believed that on the plus side, 13 Reasons Why has generated a lot of discussion about teen mental health challenges and suicide, but that perhaps there are other issues that we should be more wary of when watching the show.

Unless you've been living in some remote area with no internet service and only communicating with inanimate objects, then, chances are, you've seen (or, at least heard of) Netflix's recently released title, 13 Reasons Why. The series was adapted from a novel written by Jay Asher but, for now, I'm only going to discuss the Netflix show.

Some people go through life without the slightest bit of luck. Stuck in dead end jobs, or marry the wrong one. It has been said that all too often a certain amount of luck happens to, you guessed it, certain people. But what is being lucky all about? Can people change their luck or can they create circumstances where one is more prone to success than the other just by chance? Or is it just plain dumb luck that happens to some not only periodically but practically every day? Webster defines luck or chance, as it is sometimes associated with luck, as an event which occurs beyond one's control, without regard to one's will, intention, or desired result. It can be said your are a lucky person if you walk into a Las Vegas casino where at the poker table your first hand is a Royal Flush with a pot that is beyond imagination. Then, again one might be considered lucky if you got to kiss the girl of your dreams and live happily ever after. It is also the chance happening of fortunate or adverse events; fortune: They met one day out of pure luck. Good fortune or prosperity; success: We wish you luck all are connotations associated with being lucky.
Dr. WilliamsPublished 7 years ago in GeeksAto Essandoh of BBC America’s Copper Takes Pride in Role of Real Life African American Civil War Doctor
Ato Essandoh is (or was?) one of these character actors who’s face you definitely know but come without name recognition. Movie roles in blockbuster films like Blood Diamond and Hitch have been frequently woven around appearances in TV dramas such as Damages, The Good Wife and Law and Order. Most recently, the Schenectady born actor has emerged into a reoccurring role on Elementary with Lucy Lui. But now also playing Dr. Matthew Freeman on Copper has finally given him a permanent place to hang his shingle every week. Set in Civil War New York City, he couldn’t help but continue in that vein in accepting a small part in Django Unchained – even if it meant playing “the method” to a bloody conclusion. Actually mauled to death by a vicious dog as an oft escaped slave, Essandoh gladly met his untimely end in exchange for the chance to work with Quentin Tarantino. At least that’s what the internet reported.

We’ve all heard the story: O.J. Simpson brutally murdered his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman and got away with it. It’s as simple as that. The story is one of prosecutorial ineptitude, ill-fitting gloves and media sensationalism- that’s how O.J. was acquitted of a crime despite the seemingly overwhelming amount of evidence implicating him. To me it really was that simple. But I was wrong.
The TicketPublished 7 years ago in Geeks13 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Watch 13 Reasons Why
Spoiler Alert — Trigger Warning — For The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Call 1–800–273–8255 When I finally finished binge watching 13 Reasons Why, I was feeling a little shell shocked. Besides the obvious and extreme discomfort of watching a highly detailed suicide scene, there was an unsettling feeling at the actual handling of these heavy issues: rape, suicide, bullying. After I had a day to collect my thoughts, I sat down to write this list.

I am a huge, huge movie buff. I remember loving movies for as long as I can...remember. I remember the giddy feeling I used to feel as a child, when I would go to the video store. Everything about the damned place was magical to my eyes back then: The huge gum-ball machines near the front entrance; the big lit-up sign in front of my main store; the smell while walking in, which was like a mixture of something just created in a factory and new car smell.

Employees have been known to be fired in the past for having views that do not align with those of their company. Survivor season 34 contestant Jeff Varner, who was unanimously voted off the island in the April 12 episode of the show, learned that in a very public way this week. Following the April 12 episode of Survivor, in which he outed fellow contestant Zeke Smith as transgender, his employers, Allen Tate Real Estate, fired him.
