Eight Years Later: How 'Game of Thrones' Changed My Life
I was a bit late to the party of Game of Thrones because when the show started, I was still in high school and some of my classmates were already watching it. I didn't watch any original content that HBO put out back then because of how violent and really sexual they can get but as soon as I turned 18, I felt like I could finally explore all of the stuff they do put out. I'm 24 years old now and if you told younger me that this show was going to be on my radar, I probably wouldn't have believed you.

Review of 'Game of Thrones' Finale
In the penultimate scene of the Game of Thrones finale, Sam proposes democracy for the Seven Kingdoms: Their King or Queen should be chosen by the people. The gathered noble men and women laugh at him. Someone remarks, why not let dogs also choose who rules us (taking a line from Socrates, who said something about jackasses, the animals, ruling—come to think of it, Tyrion talked about a jackass in a brothel, too). Tyrion, ever the smartest person in the group, proposes that these gathered nobility choose the ruler. They, of course, like that. And Tyrion proposes Bran, who is ratified as King by the group.

Throughout history, women have been known for their mothering nature. The caregivers. The nurturers. The ones that are to raise the next generation in hopes that their offspring can change the world. Making it much better than how they were possibly leaving it. Although those traits are good, there have been women throughout history who had taken a different approach. In recent years, we have seen women step up and take their power back from the male oppression in which beliefs have branched into the everyday consciousness. We as women are coming for the man's metaphorical "throat" by showing that we possess more than what men have given credit for.
