Beyond the Sparkle: Why the “Twilight Saga” Is More Overrated Than Iconic
A major cultural phenomenon can change young adult fiction without being a literary masterpiece. Almost two decades after Bella Swan and Edward Cullen first gained attention, an important question remains: did Twilight earn its iconic status through superb storytelling, or did perfect timing and unique cultural momentum play a bigger role?

Consumerism , Negativland and Pepsi
Coca Cola or Pepsi or Coke or Negativland It's 3AM and because it's Saturday I don't really have to get up for a few hours. Yesterday I had to get up for work and I was really tired, but when you don't have to get up , you can be up during the night and do things like write blog posts. I'm sitting here with a bottle of Coke, well Diet Coke (though I have just noticed it only mentions the name Coca-Cola in very small writing on the label.

Why I’m Excited For Spider-Man: Brand New Day
What Spider-Man Means To Me: An Introduction Spider-Man has resonated with me since childhood because of his responsibility, courage, and determination. I grew up watching Tobey Maguire’s original trilogy and later explored The Amazing Spider-Man films in high school. I have also watched Tom Holland’s Home trilogy and the animated Spider-Verse movies, each of which brought something unique to the character of Peter Parker. Recently, I have become more interested in Spider-Man comics and learning more about his history. That said, I’m excited for Spider-Man: Brand New Day because of its character-driven approach to Peter’s arc, Destin Daniel Cretton’s direction, and the spectacular fight scenes.

Aang the Last Airbender
You may have already seen and heard everything there is to see and hear about Aang. The leak earlier this year colored everyone’s view of the film and I managed to avoid all of it. I refused to participate in the degradation and disrespect to the artists that worked on it. A leak like this does cost people money because when something like that happens; 1) the whole production gets tainted, anyone that worked on it is now suspect and will cause hesitation in hiring going forward. And 2) this was supposed to be a trilogy of films, for which most of the artists would have been hired back. If the financial hit was big enough from the leak, they would cut those next to films from the slate - costing artists jobs.

The Beauty of the Kardashians
Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kris, Caitlyn and Kendall… It seems like we have always lived with the Kardashians, or even attempted to keep up with them (a little joke for those who know), and it seems like they are now an institution that we all love and enjoy.

Miss it or Watch it? (My Latest Movie Adventures)
The Invite (2026) Director: Olivia Wilde, Actors: Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogan This movie was not what I thought, and I am so disappointed. “The Invite” stars Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogan, Penelope Cruz, and Edward Norton. Rogan was hilarious, but felt misplaced. It’s a set-in-one-location dinner party. Based on the trailer and the first hour, Olivia Wilde appeared to be experimenting with unique storytelling. I said to myself, “It doesn’t look like it will be porn.” Oh... I almost walked out. What have films come to now? Why do they need porn angles? “The Invite” was fine just as it was, with the couples engaging in talks about their lifestyle and hobbies.
