Happy Birthday to Helena Bonham Carter!
On May 26, 1966, the lovely Helena Bonham Carter was born in Islington, London. She became famous during her performance of the title character of Lady Jane in the film of the same name. Her out-of-the-box acting style changed her typecast as the quintessential English girl to being cast as edgier, and more complex characters. Her outspoken and royalty-inspired fashion sense is another thing that made her iconic—with her outfits always turning heads whether on the street, or on the red carpet.

Ever since the beginning of high school until now and beyond, I have had a healthy obsession with the actor formally known as Matt Damon. When we were first introduced to Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, the legendary outlaw was searching for an orb on the planet of Morag. As he delved into this foreign planet, he puts on his iconic orange headphones attached to a vintage Sony TPS-L2 Walkman before melodically dancing to Redbone's 'Come And Get Your Love'. From that point on, the Sony Walkman acts as an extension of Quill's character throughout the film, and the music included in his 'Awesome Mix' cassettes moves the story forward. It shouldn't be that surprising then, that the iconic device has been an increase in demand with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.

CGI is a hell of a drug. Throughout the past two decades, there has been incredible technological achievements when it comes to utilizing computer-generated effects to create the illusion of an actual figure. Composing a member of the animal kingdom is a common tactic seen in films and #TV and there are certain moments when the composition is nearly flawless. Because tigers are beautifully majestic creatures, the use of CGI can either bring a seemingly impossible scene to life, or turn your movie into a green screen mockery.

Another year has come to an end and, as usual, we are faced with the realization that the works we loved when we were younger have been off the air for years — decades even. Nostalgia is an interesting concept because there are certain films you remember adoring when you were 8, so when you decide to revisit them in your 20s, you realize that they are genuinely terrible.

The Earth as we know it is almost 5 billion years old. It has been through a lot of changes, and has evolved just as much as we have. Our planet has witnessed countless births, blood and gore, and even two devastating world wars in known history. From the get-go, we deduced that #TheLegendofTarzan would be unlike its predecessors; nor would it simply be just an update to the classics. It was nearly the same premise, the same main characters, but did you know that it also featured a hefty historical backdrop? Samuel L. Jackson stated that the new Tarzan would give us a new glimpse into the history behind the story. The movie will be loosely based around the history of the Congo, including its decimation by Belgian colonial forces, he said in an interview with NZ Herald:
