The Timeless Lessons of Captain EO
Some of you immediately remember your first experience seeing the science fiction classic Captain EO. You were either at a Disney park between 1986 and 1997 seeing the original short film, or you were there between 2010 and 2014 when the film was brought back to Disneyland and Disney World as the Captain EO Tribute. You may recollect being completely spellbound by the “4D” production, classified as such for its 3D effects and moving seats, smoke, and lights there in the room with you. Alternately, you may have unpleasant memories of being shaken up and down in your chair to the beat of some music you didn’t enjoy and the sight of some crazy, campy, 80s extended Michael Jackson music video that made zero sense. For me, Captain EO is a magical journey into space with a timeless message that deserves another watch, even if you’re just clicking a YouTube link and not there in the theatre (a place you can no longer go to see it, since it was replaced with less exalted 4D programming like Honey, I Shrunk the Audience).

Hollywood Secrets of the Golden Days
A rather amusing classic Hollywood practical joke was vouched for as perfectly authentic when the man who had perpetrated it. Eddie Goulding is who. Even way back towards the end of the silent period and all through the first decade or two of the "talkies', was among the dozen or so most successful directors in Hollywood. He was an Englishman, and like all prominent Europeans he was frequently pestered by ‘well recommended' visitors from back home, such as a young Peer of the Realm who displayed very suitable letters of introduction. Eddie did all that was expected by instructing his assistant to show the visitor around the studio and by finally giving him a quick lunch.

Humble Beginnings at The Improv with Larry David
Larry David looks out at a packed house through thick aviator glasses. Catching the audience off guard, he speaks slowly, in a voice vaguely reminiscent of Jackie Mason. "Well, I've done it again I've driven another woman to lesbianism...." The line registers, and laughter fills the room. He's already got the crowd hooked, one of the first things a stand-up comic must learn.

The Latest On That All-Female 'Ocean's Eleven' Spinoff
Nobody can deny that the Ocean’s Eleven franchise has been pretty successful over the years. From its first Sinatra-led incarnation to the three movies helmed by George Clooney and Brad Pitt, the delightfully convoluted heist series has consistently captured the attention of its audiences. Now the latest Ocean’s film is scheduled for release ---- but this one has a twist. Instead of its more standard ensemble cast of witty gentlemen, this movie’s going to be an entirely female-led enterprise.

Ultimate Freaks and Geeks Pop Culture Guide
Freaks and Geeks is one of the rare series, cut short, but hangs together perfectly as 18 episodes of pure genius. It has a beginning, a body and that rare quality so hard to find in singular seasons cut short; an end. As such it does not suffer the same fate as so many series, unfinished for lack of renewal. Irrespective of the fact that there are so many success stories that evolved from this unique series, the style, vibe and humor was way ahead of its time, and stands on its own as an iconic creative accomplishment. It defined the 1980s for a generation of millennials. The 18 episodes are literally a pop culture encyclopedia. The detailed analysis that follows takes a look at each and every episode, specifically looking at the show from a pop culture trivia standpoint wheneve applicable. As you read through the episodes, it becomes clear that the show was about more than its individuals, more about the whole and mostly one huge metaphor for the 1980s. The show was about defining the categories that separate us, and then using pop culture to deconstruct those divisions. At the end of the 18 episode story arc, pop culture unites us all, and we realize we are all Freaks and Geeks.

Best Billiards Movies
Don't blink or you might miss that trick shot. While Tom Cruise knows how to hustle pool in the movie, The Color Of Money, it’s not often that you fall in love in a pool hall, except for when it comes to billiards movies. There never seems to be a lack of beautiful women in the celluloid world of pool halls. Perhaps cracking balls has its appeal to the fairer sex, especially when they are good with a cue. The women in these billiards films give the guy shooters a real run for the money.

'Doctor Who' Kitchen Products For Holiday Meals
The only thing Daleks will be exterminating this holiday season is the turkey or ham! They’ll probably overcook it, but the Doctor always has a backup plan for you. Unfortunately, your favorite British alien probably won’t be in attendance at your holiday dinner. However, you can still feel the Doctor’s presence with some cool geeky Doctor Who products. The only way it could be any better was if the Doctor Who Christmas Special got swapped for a Thanksgiving special. But unlikely, given the British don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

So You Loved The Undertaker? Meet The Supernatural Stars of Today's WWE
Whenever you grew up within the long (long) career of The Undertaker, you probably thought he was pretty cool. Heck, you most likely thought this even if you were an adult. The Undertaker’s gone through a few different phases of his character over the years, but, through everything, he’s always stayed cool. Apparently the combo of black leather and vague necromancy just has that timeless appeal. And the man can roll his eyes right back in his head ---- c’mon, that’s pretty impressive all on its own.

The Best Little-Known Dieselpunk Movies
Just because they aren’t a household name doesn’t mean that these lesser-known dieselpunk flicks aren’t well worth the watch. If you love watching Nazi spies, katanas, Nazi zombies, tanks, Nazi robots, Mafia lords, dogfights, Nazis on the moon, jetpack rockets, and Nazi zeppelins thrown together in messy, grimy, wildly entertaining yet somehow philosophically engaging stories that your friends haven’t seen before, then this is definitely the list of dieselpunk movies for you.

The Most Popular Dieselpunk Movies
Dieselpunk, cyberpunk’s darker, grittier older brother, is often forgotten and cast aside in favor the goggles, gadgets, and Victorian charms of steampunk. But you’re missing out if you ignore amazing films like these, featuring science labs, evil doctors, and - let’s not forget - NAZIS. Take a look at some of the best dieselpunk movies that have scored big at the box office and prepare to be swept into a retro futuristic world of the 20s, 30s, and 40s where heroes still stand for justice in the midst of the grime and grind.
