Barrymore’s only recent controversy was her facing intense backlash for attempting to resume production on The Drew Barrymore Show during the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes. While her daytime talk show did not strictly violate SAG-AFTRA strike rules, proceeding without her striking writers caused immense outrage, leading her to temporarily pause the show until the strikes ended.
