Just how many Spider-Mans exist in the Spider-Verse?

Shooting a web and catapulting into theaters in 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse continues the epic saga of Miles Morales across the multiverse. Encountering a team of Spider-People, not only does he need to protect this existence, but he also clashes with a new threat.

I am just going to say it; Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an awesome movie! This highly anticipated sequel to the groundbreaking Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse takes the Spider-Verse experience to new heights. The film pushes the boundaries of animation and storytelling.

The voice cast in Across the Spider-Verse is the true standout of the movie, delivering exceptional performances. Voice acting is a whole different field of acting. Each actor brought these beloved characters to life with depth and nuances.

Returning as the voice of Miles Morales, Shameik Moore does an outstanding job of establishing the character and his youthful energy. Finding it difficult to keep his exciting persona a secret, Miles struggles to communicate with his parents about his responsibilities. Miles needs to uncover what the true definition of being a hero means.

Not the only one caught up in difficult decisions, Gwen Stacy has her own battles to fight. The sequel divulges more into Gwen’s story and not just Miles’. Hailee Steinfeld was excellent in her voice work for the character.

A spider-load of characters flies throughout the film. I lost count of how many Spider-Man’s emerged. Several familiar faces appear like Jake Johnson returning as Peter B. Parker. Now the father to an infant daughter, his interactions with his spider-daughter were adorable!

Introducing one of the most unique villains in film history, The Spot (Jason Schwartzman) is a humorous entity with holes in its body. Not adjusted to his appearance, objects disappear into different universes with one touch. However, he is more sinister than you think.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the definition of an animated movie. A crew of 1,000 people worked on this film! The largest animation crew of any animated film to date. I marveled the whole time at the mind-blowing animation. It’s hard to pick my favorite screenshot, but the scene where Miles and Gwen view the city upside-down is an image to remember.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one mega-loaded film. So much is going on at every second along with epic background music and action sequences. The comic book visual style is a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors, blending various animation techniques to create a mesmerizing spectacle that immerses viewers in the Spider-Verse like never before.

Filmmakers delved deeper into the story, exploring new narratives and alternate dimensions of Spider-Man. With its stunning animation, gripping storyline, and memorable characters, it cements itself as a worthy successor to the original film.

The audience remained focused the whole time, laughing at all the funny jokes and clever background moments. Across the Spider-Verse is a belly-full of laughs from start to finish. It doesn’t go without its dramatic moments like exploring the complexities of identity, responsibility, and the bonds that unite the team of Spider-People.

My whole theater chanted at the revelation of the cliffhanger. Without revealing too much, the twist sets up an exciting and potentially game-changing direction for future installments in the Spider-Verse franchise.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an animated film of its time. I had the best time seeing it, and now I want to re-experience this movie all over again. The theater is the setting to experience this thrilling epic adventure. I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the story to continue.
