Ranking X-Men Relationships

Worst to Best

By Alexandrea CallaghanPublished 4 days ago 3 min read

The X-Men are one of the most recognized and celebrated teams in all of comics. For many reasons the X-Men are beloved. One of those reasons is that despite their superhuman powers most of their interpersonal struggles are very grounded and very real. Allowing the audience to more closely relate to this band of misfits. One of my personal favorite parts of the X-Men are their romantic relationships. When we talk about Jean and Scott you have to also bring up Logan. There is no talking about Rogue without mentioning Gambit. So who is the best X-Men couple? Well first let’s lay down some ground rules; both members of the relationship have to have spent at least most of their time as members of the X-Men. I love Storm and T’Challa too but he is not an X-Man and therefore can not be included on this list.

At the very bottom we have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. 0/10, incest do not reccommend.

Only slightly above that we have Kitty Pryde and Colossus. She was a literal child and this was super creepy. 0/10 hated it a lot.

Really the same as Kitty and Colossus we have Rogue and Magneto. Creepy. Weird. Can be cited as one of the reasons men shouldn’t write things, or talk, or make decisions. 0/10.

Then we have Storm and Logan. Excellent best friends, no chemistry and no justification for any kind of romantic relationship. This was just a weird choice that felt very forced. 2/10 cause they’re both hot.

Jean Grey and Hank Mcoy, nope. Could not hate this any more. Their relationship has always been more intellectual than anything else. This just felt like the writers were trying random shit. Awful. 2/10.

Mystique and Hank Mcoy, honestly felt like this was done because they are both blue, like it's literally one of the things they initially bond over. Was weird. She ends up on the opposing side of how to handle mutant relations so it was never going to work anyway. 4/10.

Scott Summers and Emma Frost. Ew. He literally cheated on Jean, They could never make me like Scott Summers. 4/10.

Scott Summers and Madelyn Pryor, I don’t care if she is a close you should have known that wasn’t your wife sir. No excuses. If I came back and realized my husband didn’t know that this clone wasn’t really me he would be in so much trouble. Gross. 4/10

Scott Summers and Jean Grey, all his go together because the man clearly can’t keep it zipped. It’s an ongoing joke that all of the X-Men plots are just to fuck with Scott Summers but this man ruins his own day more then anyone does it for him. Simply stop being a dick Scott. The only reason this is ranked higher is because I love Jean. 6/10.

In the top 3; Jean Grey and Logan. Yes this goes higher then Scott and Jean I stand by it. Logan treated her better and I will in fact die on this hill 10/10.

These top three are all tied honestly, next we have Rogue and Gambit. Literal perfection. They are both so incredible, yes they are my two favorite X-Men but I am not biased they are just wonderful. 10/10.

And obviously in top spot we have Storm and Forge.Must I really explain this? 10/10.

There are far too many combinations of X-Men to count. The team has been quite incestuous over the years (sometimes in the most literal of terms). Between a million alternate universes and an almost 100 year timespan some of these relationships obviously didn’t age well. The X-Men also tended to have a rotating cast of heroes and therefore you may have noticed that this list mostly focuses on the steadiest of heroes. I chose to focus on only the characters everyone would recognize.
