Harry and Meghan keep moving forward

There is exciting news for Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to have found their nitch only six months after coming to America. The Royal couple have founded a production company that they have not yet named. They have also signed lucrative, multiyear deal with Netflix, where they will be paid to make feature films, children’s programming, docu-series, documentaries, and scripted shows. This gives the couple a global platform in only half of their first year since their dramatic departure from the House of Windsor.

The Duke and Duchess may possibly appear on camera in documentaries but according to a representative for the couple, Meghan has no plans to return to acting, There has been no news regarding how the Royal family feels about this venture but they can’t be very happy. When Harry married a commoner, it was expected that she would adapt to the ways of the House of Windsor and become a princess. Who could ever have expected things to go in the other direction with Harry living life like an ordinary American. This may be in his DNA as it mirrors two other males of the House of Windsor.

The Express Uk reveals that Prince Harry is following in the footsteps of his uncle Prince Edward who desired a career in the entertainment industry when he left Cambridge University in 1986. Prince Edward began his career in the theatre, serving as a production assistant to Andrew Lloyd Webber and later worked in television production. The Prince founded Ardent Productions, which created documentaries, and dramas. It turned out to be one of his projects that survived the longest. Prince Edwards most successful feature with Ardent Productions was a documentary about his late great-uncle the Duke of Windsor, who abdicated the throne to marry American commoner Wallis Simpson who was a divorcée.

This project had worldwide appeal and was also well-received in the United States. Working in the entertainment industry as well as marrying American divorcee has Harry doing what his ancestors did before him. Even so, this is not what his father Prince Charles envisioned for his son. Meghan and Harry obviously put a lot of time and energy into their new direction and many applaud the prince for standing up for his wife and son, by walking away from Royal life. There are those who blame Meghan and blame her for disrupting the House of Windsor.

In their official statement, Harry and Meghan said the following. “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.” The couple also said that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will assist them in sharing “ impactful content that unlocks action.” The productions by the Sussexes will be exclusive to Netflix, which to date has 193 million global subscribers. It’s not known how much money Harry and Meghan will make but what is known is they don’t have much experience in this field. Netflix is probably banking on their celebrity to make the project a success and a financial success for all concerned.

The Queen Prince Phillip, Prince William and Kate Middleton probably have mixed emotions as do many British subjects. Meghan Markle in essence turned their prince into a frog. She did not aspire to live up to the standards of Royal protocol but has instead caused Harry to lower his. Harry has always seemed like an outsider from his red hair to his love of Africa. Charles and Diana’s youngest son has always danced to the beat of a different drum and seemed more at home away from his Royal duties. Perhaps this is the life he desired all along.
