Sometimes the way we perceive art can change over time. Creative works can be praised when they are released but then forgotten or be less appreciated in years to come. With that said, I don’t think it’s too soon to say that 2017 was an incredible year for film. Every year will have some films that are disappointments, but 2017 had many amazing standalone, series starting and sequel films.
The Witch Mountain Films - Were You a Fan?
The Witch Mountain films, who watched these as a child? Though the first two films, Escape to Witch Mountain and Return from Witch Mountain, were made in the seventies, they were hugely popular with children, like myself, who grew up in the 1980s. Probably as the release of Return To Witch Mountain on VHS came out in 1986, so it was the perfect children’s film to rent out from the video shop, which I did, a few times!

Chow Len went into hiding in Asia and Africa, working with various warlords along the way. Because of his extensive arsenal of hand-held and automatic weapons, the warlords bestowed the title "The Prophet" on Chow Len. Chow Len became known for hanging out with a group of highly skilled assassins and merciless bounty hunters as a result. However, any genuine opportunity to make Chow Len the Prophet's hand superior to his competitor was always a reason to secure permanent power in the Black Dragon Clan.
