A comparison between a summer love story and the true love between Shrek and Fiona
A wooden puppet, witches, seven dwarves, a talking donkey, an ogre, a cursed princess waiting to be rescued and a female dragon. Every creature is different and coexists in a unique and fantastic world. Diversity is the key and love doesn’t seem to be discriminating. Shrek is the love story that we all love and I’m sure every person has seen at least one film of the saga.

Educational Procrastination
A passing glance triggered it, a boredom-staving traipse through a sea of entertainment. My curiosity got the better of me that day, and I’m so glad it did, but my mum would say it’s just lucky I’m not a cat. (“Curiosity killed the cat,” she’d chide me, but her words often went in one ear and out the other.) Feline or human, I was a creature of habit, and I’d be back to the same old tricks despite each and every warning. This time, I was drowning in the waters of unfulfilled energy, and I wanted an outlet.

If You Love Ancient History
*Spoiler alert! All the historical characters discussed in this article are dead. Most of them, not by natural causes. When learning about history was a requirement, I had zero interest. I learned the hard way that you can’t write a history report based on a movie. Now that I’m older, I love learning about different periods in time and the people from those periods. Occasionally, a movie just isn’t enough.

If You Liked Kamisama Kiss, Then Take a Trip to Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits
The pandemic was a veritable breeding ground of many things, new anime fans included. I’m not saying I’m glad it happened, but I will never complain about having more people to geek out with. And it’s undeniable: the lockdown forced many media consumers to turn to genres outside their norm in order to find entertainment. Many fans of romance found that anime wasn’t, in fact, just a bunch of buff dudes screaming at each other and becoming friends after punching each other in the face. I mean, those shows definitely exist, but there are so many others, including laughter inducing, tear-jerking, drama filled romances.

What A Year For The Movies
2020, for many of us, was the year in which we reengaged our inner movie critic. But let's be frank, it's why our asses got a bit wider, and our guts look like a sow, ready for slaughter, but there were some pretty good releases, and a ton of original series from the big boy's Netflix and Amazon Prime.

An Amazon in the Past
There are many people growing up, like myself, who saw Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson in 2001. They were in enthralled on how wonderful and creative it was in its magic and set design; each architecture and piece was set to perfection, with even the music by Howard Shore. Yet, there exists in the making, a tv show that is set to rediscover that magic again: Amazons Lord of the Rings, but akin to the Simarillion (set thousands of years ago).

The Dilemma of Choice
There was this, once upon a time. Choosing a show on the tele was easy peasy. Sesame street was a bouncy breakfast staple for the kids and many grown ups devoured Dynasty for dessert. After all, the Ewings were a thrillingly naughty bunch lol. Oh and don't forget The Love Boat with a bit of sensual something for everyone. We had choices in days gone by, and we were content with the simplicity of a small smorgasbord of shows on offer. Tele brought our families together. There was no rewind. No fast forward. Your show was on NOW. You showed up for it. You were left on the edge of your seat until the following Monday night.

If This, Then That Afterlife
There are stories; and then there are stories that make you stay glued to your TV screen for hours. You are hooked, happy when the protagonist is victorious, and dashed when an episode collectively plot changes all known evidence. That pretty much explains all thematic storylines.
