Ready for an exciting adventure in Hawaii? Don’t worry, I won’t get us into danger.

Finding 'Ohana is a 2021 Netflix film about a family traveling to Hawaii to visit their Grandfather. Finding out that there is a hidden treasure on this island, Pili and her friends follow a map as they travel through the dangerous underground caves of Hawaii.

If you are looking for a new comedy to have a good laugh at, Finding ’Ohana is your movie. I have watched this film twice on Netflix and both times I was laughing in hysterics. In this entertaining adventure, Finding ‘Ohana establishes the true meaning behind family and friendship.

In her film debut, Kea Peahu was excellent. Pili is a curious kid with a big heart. She also has a big imagination. I enjoyed all of Pili’s responses to certain situations, often not recognizing the crisis at hand. Pili’s determination is a trait for audiences of her age to look up to. Never be afraid to take a stand.

Following Pili on this treasure hunt adventure, Alex Alono, Lindsay Watson, and Owen Vaccaro were terrific. They worked very well in their interactions, including their comedic banter. Working together as a team is critical. You may not like everyone you meet, but it is a priority to get to know somebody.

For anyone who has siblings, get ready for epic battles between Pili and Ioane. Their typical sibling banter brought back memories of when and me and my brother chased each other up the walls. The film also dedicated heartwarming scenes to showcasing their true bond.

Speaking of Ioane, he learns a memorable lesson about the importance of one's name. Ioane and Hana did a remarkable job in their scenes, bickering and opening one another up about their world. You never know what hidden battles people are keeping secret.

Other credits to include are Kelly Hu, Branscombe Richmond, Ke Hu Quan, Chris Parnell, Marc Evan Jackson, X Mayo, and Ricky Garcia.

I am glad that the film did not just focus on the kids. Hu and Richmond deserve notable mentions. Hu did a wonderful job exploring her emotions playing a mom who has been through a lot. She and Richmond performed an emotional scene about how vital family is.

Whether Finding ‘Ohana was meant to be a modernized adaptation or decided to have too many references to the 1985 film, The Goonies, it was a little distracting from the main story. But still, it was a fun film. Now I want to go back and watch The Goonies.

Comedy-wise, this film nails its comedy. It’s fresh. It’s all about the deliveries. The imagination sequences of the pirates acting out the kid's modernization narrations of the story were my favorite. Surprisingly, Finding ‘Ohana was emotional. Family is a value.

Jude Weng distributed a film for young adult audiences. Finding ‘Ohana grasps the perspective of a child. It’s a coming of age story. Weng chose the best locations, a great cast, and displayed a commemorating moral. The friendship between the quarter, mostly Pili and Casper were memorable aspects of the film.

Finding ‘Ohana includes an exceptional representation of Hawaiin life. Learning about other cultures is essential. I’m looking forward to traveling again. Hawaii is on my list of places to travel to. Filmmakers gorged in the cinematography of all of Hawaii’s locations. There is even one iconic location that has been seen in the media.

I recommend that you watch Finding ‘Ohana on Netflix. The film was long in some parts, but it is a real treat. It is humorous, finds its adventure, and has a great story.
