B&B alum Pierson Fode' might be the next Superman but what will it cost him?

Former B&B actor may get the job of his dreams

For many years actresses told the tale of Hollywood's dirty little secret called the "Casting couch." In later years we are finding out that this was not exclusive to females as some men have been asked to do the same thing. The casting couch is when producers of films asked for sexual favors in exchange for casting a starlet a role. This came to mind when I read that Pierson Fode' a former cast member of The Bold and the Beautiful is up for the part of the new Superman.

Fode' portrayed Thomas Forrester on B&B from 2015-2018 and he was the Thomas who fell in love with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and they seemed to have a promising future. Once Thomas left town he broke up with Sally which began her downward spiral and now she is on The Young and the Restless. Thomas is now being portrayed by Matthew Asfordl. Fode' said he left the CBS soap because he could not work full time on The Bold and the Beautiful and be in a Marvel movie or a Netflix film. If he gets chosen for Superman it will be a production of Marvel's rival DC comics.

I probably would never have associated something so despicable as the casting couch with Fode' getting his dream role if it had not been for the story that was told by Matthew Lawrence who was in the final season of Boy Meets World. This is why instead of being happy for Fode' I felt apprehension because he is a good-looking 31-year-old man who should and hopefully will obtain the role solely on his talent alone.

Matthew Lawrence had a harrowing experience

About a month ago I read the story that Matthew Lawrence told and it was quite disturbing. He said a prominent Hollywood producer asked him to strip and in exchange he could be the next Marvel superhero. Lawrence declined and says he was fired by his agent. No one male or female should be treated thsi way but it happens and some do comply with the demands. Forde would make a wonderful Superman and his fans will be hoping he gets the role.

Lawrence came forward about what could have happened to him but how many more young men have remained silent and are afraid to say "Me too." Even worse is the thought that some actors we have loved in certain films may have succumbed to the pressure and only gained the part of a leading man because they gave in to the pressure.

Pierce Fode' deserve Superman because he is a great actor

So here we are fans of The Bold and the Beautiful and in good conscious some of us cannot fully be excited for Pierson Forde as we should. We could turn a blind eye and say what happened to Matthew was unfortunate but not widespread and cheer the former Thomas Forrester on. Perhaps some soap fans will be able to do just that. For others, they might never be able to look at a leading man or woman in a film again without wondering what price they paid for the fame and glory.

There will also be those who wonder when a talented actor does not get a prominent role if it were because they refused to sell themselves. At the end of the day, anyone over the age of 21 is an adult and can make a freewill choice and the best scenario would be for Fode' to become the next Superman because he deserves it. Whether he gets the part or not he may keep to himself if he obtained the role or was turned down for any other reason than his acting skills.
