Bade Miyan Chote Miyan hit or flop?

So Akshay Kumar or Tiger Shroff's film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, made with a budget of Rs 350 crore, has completed its first week, and now seeing its box office trend, it is clear that it is not a flop but a huge disaster.

Now I will tell you four reasons why Bade Miyan Chote Miyan completely crashed at the box office.

Story vs. Action

There has been a trend in Bollywood, or should I say Indian cinema, that whenever an action film is made, more and more emphasis is given to the action of the film but not on the story.

Saho, the Heropanti franchise, and the Bhaaghi franchise are all examples of films in which the story was negligible and was filled only with action, and this exact problem happened with the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

While the action of the film was very good, as no doubt everyone knows, the story, screenplay, and execution of the film were so bad that the audience could not connect with the characters, and after a time, there was so much overdose of action in the film that the film stopped being entertaining, and no one knows when it came into the category of irritating.

Poor Promotional Material

See, when teasers, trailers, or songs of any film are launched, their basic purpose is to attract the audience towards the film so that footfalls are higher on the first day itself.

In such a situation, when the teaser of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan came, it got a decent response from the audience, but after that, the three songs released back-to-back damaged the hype of the film so much that the atmosphere created by the teaser was almost lost.

First of all, those three songs were not melodious at all, and the second most important thing is that those songs did not seem to have any relevance to the story of the film.

The audience was feeling that when this film is based on two soldiers, what is the point of including so many item songs?

Plus, the back-to-back reels made by Akshay Kumar or Tiger Shroff on Instagram also killed the hype of the film to a great extent because the audience was talking more about other things than about the film.

And perhaps for this reason, when this film was released on April 11, its opening did not seem very big.

Over Budget

As I told you, there was too much overdose of action in the film, which had a direct impact on the budget because the budget of this film was around Rs 350 crores, which was more than films like Pathaan or Jawan.

Plus, the makers talked about the budget of the film at the press conference and also claimed that the lifetime business of the film is going to be Rs 1100 crore.

The audience is very smart; they keep noticing even the smallest things, so when the film was finally released, it earned only Rs 40 crore in its first weekend.

This made it clear to the audience that if a film with a budget of Rs 80 to Rs 100 crore earns Rs 40 crore in its opening weekend, it's considered decent. However, if a film with a budget of Rs 300 crore only earns Rs 40 crore in its opening weekend, it's considered a disappointment. This indicates a flaw in the film's content.

Apart from this, the public word of mouth for the film was also not good at all. Due to this, when the weekdays of the film started after the four-day weekend, the film crashed very badly on Monday.

Terrible Direction

Ali Abbas Zafar, known for his work on films like "Sultan" and "Tiger Zinda Hai," is responsible for the writing, screenplay, and direction of "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan." However, any viewer not particularly fond of Salman Khan would likely consider "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" to be Zafar's weakest effort yet.

First of all, the dialogues written for the characters of Tiger Shroff or Alaya F in the film are so senseless that the audience feels cringe while sitting in the theater.

Secondly, the comedy that has been tried to be integrated into the screenplay of the film seems so forced and unnecessary that the film itself has become intolerable for the audience.

As a result of these issues, the final product delivered by director Ali Abbas Zafar was considerably below average, resulting in outright rejection by the audience.
