Mohamed MahmoudPublished a day ago in GamersImproving as a Solo Sniper in Tarkov
As someone who enjoys using bolt-actions and generally longer ranged weapons a little too much in Tarkov, I have always tried to get better at using these weapons. They are by far the most difficult type of weapon to use. You don't get the luxury of full auto, and you need to make sure that your aim is true. It’s a great deal of pressure in a game where people are going to outpace you with rifles and SMGs. But again, as someone who really enjoys this playstyle, I’ve come to terms with the downsides of these weapons and embrace their flaws as to what makes them so compelling to use in the first place. If it's one thing veteran players of Tarkov love to do, is self-handicapping themselves in a plethora of ways. And while I wouldn’t say using a bolt-action is the same as doing a hardcore account, it's as close as you can get without adding rules or restrictions on how you play the game. Regardless, these weapons are hard to use; I enjoy using them, so I’ve learned a few things over the hundreds of hours I’ve put into bolt-actions. So, I’d like to share some of those harsh lessons of making mistakes, dying and learning from them. These are especially important if you are a solo player. With no one around you for support, being a sniper is scary, but it doesn’t always have to be.
What Escape From Tarkov 1.0's Full Release Might Look Like
BSG recently released the first part in a multitude of videos for their own official beginner's guide for Escape From Tarkov. It’s a good watch, and I recommend you check it out even if you’ve been on the game for years. It’s nice to hear the voice actor for USEC 3, Forty-One going over the basics of the game. So shoutouts to him. But after watching that video and knowing that it’s going to turn into a series of beginner friendly videos, it made me reflect on the entire game as a whole and where 1.0 might be in the pipeline. What features may or may not be added. How the game might start and how it will end. Because regardless of the in-between sections of the game, the goal is still to get to Terminal and actually escape from the area of Tarkov. That’s always been the end goal for anyone playing Tarkov, and it seems like that hasn’t changed over the years. But in regard to the rest of the game, what can we expect for new introductions for weapons, gear, mechanics and the other important aspects like that? Well, that’s what I wanted to go over today; just having a conversation about the potential of 1.0 being around the corner and how much different Tarkov might look or might now look. Because while we know for certain some elements still haven’t been added that BSG wants, there might be others that can’t make the cut and are saved post official launch of the game. Other than that, we still don’t have an exact release date. We’ve heard the phrase “this year” for a couple of years now, and maybe 2024 will finally be that year. I’m just as if not more curious than you about Tarkov’s future and what it looks like, especially how our account and experience with Tarkov will start once we go full 1.0

The Best Example of "Flow State" in Gaming
There is a phenomenon with video games that can occur when players become completely incapsulated in what they are engaging with; becoming so focused and attentive of what is on the screen, that for a brief moment, their sense of space and what’s going on around them kind of fades away into the back of their subconscious. It’s called “flow state” and there are plenty of videos talking about what it is and how to achieve it right here on YouTube. Today, the plan is not to get into the science of flow state itself but look at examples of games and genres where this phenomenon is most likely to occur and discuss one game that might take the number one spot for most likely to get you engaged in flow state the fastest. We’re also going to look at what factors contribute inside games that might help realize those moments of zoning out of the world around you and into whatever it is you might be playing. I have a few examples I’d like to mention, but out of all the games out there, all the genres and ways video games can pull you into their rich and interesting worlds, in terms of really nailing those flow state moments, it’s difficult to find another game that does it better than DOOM Eternal. A hyper aggressive first-person shooter that is a direct sequel to the legendary revival of the DOOM franchise back in 2016. And even though personally I think DOOM 2016 is a better game (that conversation would require its own video), DOOM Eternal’s 30-second gameplay loop is FAR superior to 2016’s. More mechanics, more demons you need to shoot, it’s faster, the enemies AI is much more aggressive; it’s an overall better experience to play if you are familiar with DOOM and want a greater challenge. And it’s those moments where you are fighting a horde of enemies that creates these flow state moments; once you get deep enough into the game, there is a tooltip that pops up on screen that basically says you have all the tools we are going to offer you, now you need to put them to the test. And from there, the magic that is DOOM Eternals perfect flow state can really shine through.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011)
To say Call of Duty's Modern Warfare games were a major success would be an understatement of note. Now, before I continue there is something I wanted to address really quickly about my Modern Warfare 2 review. The game was developed by TWO studios. I only mentioned Infinity Ward, but they were assisted by the team over at Sledgehammer Games.
Greg SeebregtsPublished 17 days ago in GamersUnderstanding the Mindset of a “Good” Tarkov Player
We’ve spoken about this topic before; many months ago. About what makes a “good” Tarkov player. And today, I wanted to make sort of a follow-up video to that idea. Previously, we talked about how aim, knowledge of the maps, and adaptability were cornerstone components to making a lethal and effective Tarkov player. And while those are definitely still important, upon reflection of the idea of what is a “good” Tarkov player, there have been other ideas and components that I’ve taken into more serious consideration that would arguably be sometimes more important that those previously talked about ideas. I’m sure most of us that play the game also watch others play it. And especially those that are prominent and skillful at the game. You watch their gameplay, and you can sometimes pick up on little ticks or muscle memory from doing the same thing thousands of times before. What they end up using a majority of the time, and how they bend and stretch the game to play more under their own rules. There is a lot more nuance with these ideas, and it isn’t as concrete and simple as the previous video. It boils down to more of a mentality thing, as well as repetition of playing the game a certain way. And that’s what I wanted to discuss today: the smaller, finer details of playing Tarkov and what aspects you can focus on once you have the basics and fundamentals down to really grow as a player. Again, it’s not as cut and dry, nor pretty as giving someone three tips and they immediately improve. Tarkov, and we’ve said this before many times, is a complex game with a ton of layers, situations, moments where one idea might apply but not the other. It’s important to understand the why as much as the how. So, let’s try and understand what goes into the mindset of a good Tarkov player.
