The Book of Boba Fett has come and gone and that means we are now looking back at the show. One of the biggest questions of the show, in retrospect, is; was this new series marketed properly?
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismRUMOR: Is Daisy Ridley Returning To 'Star Wars'?
It has been 3 years since we last saw Daisy Ridley’s Rey in The Rise of Skywalker. The 9th mainline Star Wars film brought an end to the Skywalker Saga. Many fans believed this would be the last time we would see Rey, Finn, or Poe in Star Wars. Several of the cast have voiced their displeasure with the sequel trilogy, and it didn’t seem likely any of the cast would be reappearing any time soon. According to a new rumor, however, Daisy Ridley may not be hanging up her lightsaber for good.
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismWhen Might We See Qi'ra On Screen Again?
In the aftermath of the finale of The Book of Boba Fett, many Star Wars fans are wondering if we'll ever see the character of Qi'ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story on screen again. For those who don't know, Qi'ra was brought back into the canon story of Star Wars last year with Charles Soule's comic miniseries, The War of the Bounty Hunters. In said miniseries, we saw Boba Fett lose the carbonite frozen Han Solo to Crimson Dawn between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Under their new leader, Lady Qi'ra, Crimson Dawn auctioned off the smuggler to the galaxy's biggest crime syndicates. This ultimately ended with Darth Vader arriving to crash the auction, as Fett reclaimed his bounty and brought him to Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine.

Ever since Kathleen Kennedy announced the "rematch of the century" between Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+, it has become obvious that Darth Vader would be the major antagonist of the Jedi Master in exile. But at the same time, it was clear that the stand-off between the Jedi Master and his fallen Padawan could only be the climax of the mini-series and that there had to be other opponents disturbing Kenobi's peaceful life on Tatooine.

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) veteran Robert Blalack has passed away on February 2, 2022 at the age of 73. As one of the pioneering figures in the visual effects industry, Blalack was a leading contributor in the making of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977, during which he took the role of supervisor for the film's composite optical photography involving miniature and optical effects units. He was in charge of leading the modification and retooling of ILM's optical equipment for running VistaVision, the fabled format chosen for the production of A New Hope. This proved to be no easy feat, as the establishment of ILM's first visual effects pipeline faced many technical challenges and demanded a year's worth of intensive work, leaving only seven months to complete over 300 effects shots by the time the pipeline was ready for action.

Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismOpinion: Should Lucasfilm Be More Open With The 'Star Wars' Fandom?
The relationship between artist and audience has always been a complicated one. Over the last few years, we've seen many positive and negative examples of creative teams interacting with their fans in a variety of ways. This has only been made easier by the global explosion of social media and the internet presence of various actors, writers, and directors on various websites. On the positive side, we've seen many fans have their own work promoted by the artists who inspired them in the first place and even had their feedback taken directly by said artists. On the negative side, we've seen numerous instances of toxicity and harassment occur when either the artist or the audience neglect online boundaries and take their relationship with a work of art in an unhealthy direction. Unfortunately, we've seen both of these occur many times within the Star Wars fandom.
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in Futurism'Book Of Boba Fett' Post-credits Scene Seemingly Confirms That Cobb Vanth Did Survive
"Think it through." - Cobb Vanth (The Book of Boba Fett "Chapter Six: From the Desert Comes a Stranger") The Book of Boba Fett had lots of surprises, and the surprises continued, even when the credits started rolling. As with the second season finale of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett included a surprising post-credits scene. This scene revealed the presumed dead Freetown marshall, Cobb Vanth, resting comfortably in Boba's bacta tank, seemingly prepared to be operated on by a mod tech. This was the same person who fixed Fennec’s fatal injuries with cybernetics during a flashback scene earlier in the series. The clear allusion, of course, was that Cobb, who was gunned down by Cad Bane in retaliation for standing up to the Pykes’ spice trade in this territory, would likely survive his fatal injuries.
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in Futurism'New' Luke Skywalker Shows Appreciation In An Instagram Post
Warning! Spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian below!!! One of the biggest reveals in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale was the reappearance of Luke Skywalker. It was a shock to everyone to see the face of a young Mark Hamill considering it has been over 40 years since Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope premiered in 1977. This was done by using a younger body double and the help of CGI. The first body double that appeared as Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian was played by Max Lloyd Jones, and the Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett was played by Scott Lang. Both were presented in the credits as “Stunt Double- Jedi.” Now the role of Luke Skywalker appears to have been officially passed on to Graham Hamilton. He recently posted an appreciation post on Instagram saying:
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismWhy 'The Book Of Boba Fett' Was Never Going To Please Everybody
I am surprised by the reception The Book of Boba Fett has received. I have been a critic of Disney Star Wars but have enjoyed the series. I know others who have been equally disparaging of the Disney Star Wars movies but have enjoyed The Book of Boba Fett. Then there are those who have disliked the series, while others have flagellated it. Social media (particularly Twitter) is awash with condemnation.

Fandom is an amazing thing. Fans can consistently take their favorite series, movies, video games, books, etc., and create something new and breathtaking with their passion. These fan creations go beyond what the original creators expect or anticipate most of the time. Perhaps the most recent example comes from a fan of The Book of Boba Fett, who created a near-perfect Mandalorian N-1 Naboo Starfighter model. And the best part is, the model is available for purchase right now!
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismDid 'The Book Of Boba Fett' Finale Provide A Hint To Grogu's Fate In The Sequels?
As the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett comes to a close, Grogu’s future becomes a little clearer; or does it? Star Wars fans know that Grogu chose Din Djarin, not Luke Skywalker. But what does this really mean? Since Grogu was first introduced in the 2019 Disney+ series The Mandalorian, there is much to speculate. Is everyone now in love with the adorable child, later identified as Grogu, a Jedi!? He looks like Yoda, so why not? He is of Yoda’s species. The Star Wars timeline has grown increasingly exciting and meaningful with new characters and stories. This cliffhanging strategy by Star Wars creators and storytellers is really leaving the Star Wars fanbase on the edge of their seats. Conversations at the workplace have been engaging in anticipation of what Star Wars has to bring next.
