'The Mandalorian' Led To Jon Favreau Receiving "Insane Deal" From Disney

The Star Wars galaxy has a lot of odds and ends to it, filled to the brim with all sorts of wonderful and magical elements. However, some of those elements are a bit stranger than others. When the Expanded Universe was conceived, it expanded the Star Wars galaxy in a way that was both odd and weird, but also fantastical and enlightening. The old Expanded Universe was made up of many eras too. There was the Bantam era of the '90s to the Del-Ray era of the mid to late 2000s. In the early years of the EU, the comic book license belonged to Marvel Comics.

It is March, which means there are only two full months of school left, spring break should be around the corner, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is on the horizon for Disney+. This highly anticipated show will focus on Kenobi’s life in Tatooine after Revenge of the Sith and before the fateful encounter with R2-D2 in A New Hope. Ewan McGregor is due to return to the role that established him as a star in order to further flesh out what the legendary character was doing during that time period. The 1970s were a good time to be a film director. The studio system was crumbling, and rising productions were placing dramatic emphasis on the visual side of filmmaking. It was an era that would be coined as New Hollywood, and it attracted young directors who wanted to see their visions come to life onscreen. The 70s were a strange time in the history of Hollywood. Filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick and Robert Altman had already started breaking down the walls of conventional filmmaking in the 60s, but it was obvious that something needed to change. Studios were stuck making formulaic films for teenagers, and young people tuned out — gravitating instead towards music and social movements like the anti-war movement or hippie culture. The great thing about this time was that it was a giant melting pot of ideas; studios wanted whatever would turn things around, and they were willing to give just about anyone with a big idea a chance.
Avid Fan Recreates Boba Fett & Cad Bane Showdown Using Action Figures
What’s better than fanart depicting the standoff between Cad Bane and Boba Fett from Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett? Fanart depicting the standoff with action figures while using master camera work and effects, of course. One of the best parts about joining a fandom as large as Star Wars is the fanart that quickly follows, and for fans of Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett series, it was no exception. An Instagram post by KILLCUTTERPHOTO shows the standoff of the two iconic bounty hunters in a series of photos. One is of the complete picture itself with Cad Bane leaning against a building and Boba Fett in the distance followed by closeups of the two bounty hunters themselves. The picture itself was created with a handmade diorama and the skillful use of Star Wars action figures, along with some amazing camera work.

Like the movies, the accompanying movie trailers are a product of their times. Nearly 100 years old, the first trailers were shown in the late 1920s, after a film ended – hence the name “trailer.” In these early days, trailers relied heavily on narration, which continued for many decades to come, well into the 1990s. And the teasers and trailers for the original Star Wars trilogy were no exception.
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismWill We Get A Rangers Of Tatooine Show?
The future of The Book of Boba Fett remains up in the air. Since the release of the finale “Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor,” there has been no confirmation from either Disney or Lucasfilm on whether or not the show will be getting a second season. With much of the show's time being devoted to characters aside from Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, many fans are hoping for a second season more centered on Boba without having to worry about tying into The Mandalorian. Still, it seems at this point that The Book of Boba Fett may have only been intended to serve as a bridge between The Mandalorian Seasons 2 and 3, which has understandably left many fans of Temuera Morrison's current take on Boba Fett disappointed. Boba Fett deserves a show all to himself and The Book of Boba Fett could fix that issue if it were renewed for another season.

Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismCould Disney Reintroduce This Fan Favorite 'Star Wars' Character?
With decades of comic books, video games, books, TV shows and, yes, movies over the course of several decades, Star Wars has a long, rich history of hundreds of characters not seen in the main films made by George Lucas, then Disney. When Disney bought the franchise in 2012, it made almost everything that wasn't directly involved in the movies "Legends" instead of canon. However, in the decade since, they have taken some of the more beloved characters and made them officially canon, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Revan.
