Mena Massoud Teases 'Star Wars' Fans Again With INSANE Ezra Fan Art

'Rebels' Fans Are Sure To Be Excited For This

Dating back to about a year ago, there has been buzz about Mena Massoud being cast as live-action Ezra Bridger. With the new Ahsoka Disney+ series set to debut in 2022, there is now more buzz than ever around the role of Ezra Bridger, especially since Natasha Liu Bordizzo is set to play Sabine Wren in the Ahsoka series. The character of Ezra may play an important role in the Ahsoka series and in the future of Star Wars

The fanbase might remember that when Star Wars Rebels left off, Ahsoka was in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ezra Bridger disappeared along with Grand Admiral Thrawn as the space whales (the purrgil) transport their ship to the Unknown Regions. Mena Massoud has been the "chosen one", cast by the fanbase to play Ezra since Star Wars Rebels ended in 2018.

Just a few days ago, Mena Massoud posted on his personal Instagram account some fan art depicting him as Ezra Bridger. The fan art appeared to be art promoting the Ahsoka Disney+ series and was apparently created by RenderDriver and GuilleGFX. Mena Massoud’s only comment was “thanks for dreaming alongside me. Love you guys!"

Dating back to 2020, social media platforms have been used by actors to generate talk or speculation about them playing certain roles in theatrical or serialized productions. Mena Massoud has commented that modern social media offers opportunities for expressing interest in playing the character of Ezra in less traditional methods. Massoud feels that he has the skills necessary to handle that role. This is interesting because Rosario Dawson had the same experience in being cast as Ahsoka Tano in the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. Rosario Dawson was "fan-cast" as Ahsoka before her debut. This leaves the fanbase in wonderment and excitement that the Star Wars producers are getting inspiration from social media posts.

With Grand Admiral Thrawn set to be the predominant adversary in future Mandalorian-related Star Wars productions and with the Ahsoka series setting the stage for a matchup between Ahsoka and Thrawn, there is reason to believe that Ezra Bridger will make an appearance. Mena Massoud appears to be the most popular and best choice for the young Jedi’s return to the Star Wars universe. The Ahsoka series is set to begin very soon, production beginning in April 2022 so the fanbase is gearing up for all the news and the debut of the series and some of their favorite characters. No surprise the fanbase is excited for the next few months, waiting in anticipation for the character of Ezra Bridger.

As the beginning of production for Ahsoka gets closer, there should be more confirmation as to who will be cast as the characters for the Disney+ series. Despite the anticipation for the Ahsoka series, Disney+ will surely keep its fanbase distracted with their other productions. The Book of Boba Fett just ended, next is Moon Knight debuting March 30, then there is Obi-Wan Kenobi debuting on May 25, Andor later in the year, as well as The Mandalorian, Season 3. It will be exciting to see the Disney+ Ahsoka series, given the recent events from The Book of Boba Fett and Din Djarin’s role in the Star Wars universe. Continuing Ahsoka’s story will be very interesting to see. The fanbase cannot wait!
