What Happened to Her?
Year: 2076 Location: Underground Paranormal Testing Facility somewhere in the US Time: 5:32 PM It has always been the same thing: wake up, get groomed, get dressed, eat the necessary meals, and sit in that cold and Hi-tech room. Ever since I acquired extraordinary powers, I was taken away from my family. They lied to them saying that I'll be placed into a "special hospital." I was 17 at the time. The research team saw my abnormal abilities and deemed me too dangerous—not only to my family—but to the world. The room was decent for me to settle. A twin-sized bed, sink, mirror that would open up and reveal my toiletries, a restroom card key is hung up next to the mirror. I even get monitored when I go "powder my nose" in the restroom. I have neighbors next to my cell room. Whenever I was carried by the guards, everyone would scream. Some even burst inside and out. I heard the cellar door open.

Chapter 3 The three of them walked by a park a ways down from the Garda station. Catherine found a wooden bench to rest on. She felt weak from the exertion of their errand. She hadn't been out of bed, let alone the house, for some time. Bowen and Danny gave each other glances of concern when they saw how exhausted she was. Bowen leaned against a tree not too far from the bench. Danny sat down next to his sister with a worried look on his face.
The Number of Plastic in Our Oceans Will Give You Chills
So if eight million metric tons of plastic ends up in our oceans every year, then that means 560 pounds of plastic goes into our oceans a day. So to put that into a visual, Canada is only 8030 KM long, the amount of coastline in kilometers is 620,000. So there is enough plastic going into our oceans a year to travel across Canada 77 times per year. This is a catastrophic number.

Episode 1.5 of Years and Years couldn't be more tragically relevant to our lives right now in the United States, off-screen. It was about the treatment of immigrants, their placement in concentration camps, and what that really means.

"You know, you're practically drooling, right?" Marlow said with amusement as she watched her friend, Astrid, stare down with bright, excited eyes at the book she had brought from her grandpa's collection as though the book was the Grimoire, also known as a “book of spells.”

She always knew she was different from everyone else. People around her were automatically set to move away even when all she did was enter a room full of people. The conversations would turn subdued, and everyone would steal furtive glances at her. She didn't think she was all that special or noteworthy, but apparently, everyone around her thought she was. She had developed an appreciation for what the women in Salem during the Witch Trials must have felt like. Not that she was a witch.

Neil WhitePublished 5 years ago in FuturismAlex The Inventor - Chapter 12 (Pt.3)
Chapter 12 (Part 3): Finders Keepers and a Simple Plan The little snub-nosed electric taxi pulled up in front of the Faraways' house half an hour later and Alex hopped out as soon as the robot car popped its window open and raised the two passenger seats high enough for them to climb out. After wishing the two of them a good night, and waiting an appropriate amount of time for them to enter their house, the polite little car sped away into the night to take another call. Dinner was a simple meal of potatoes, rice, and peas, with a surprise apple pie dessert from Rosie's. Elizabeth was still feeling very tired from the over-night stay at the hospital, but Alex was fidgety and very impatient. You've had a nice restful stay at the hospital, I see, Elizabeth thought, ruefully. Washing the dishes was a rather noisy event with Alex jumping from one foot to the other with youthful impatience, then all but snatching each plate from her hand as she handed it to him. Clatter. Crash. Clatter, crashed each dish as he gave them a quick wipe then tossed them carelessly here and there into whichever free space he could find.
G.F. BrynnPublished 5 years ago in FuturismReview of 'The Rook' 1.4
The best episode of The Rook—1.4—was on last night, in which we find out lots of stuff about Myfanwy. First and foremost: she knew that Bristol had something important to do with her forgotten past. She thought it was the city (and it's a nice city, one of my favorites in England, after London), but it turns out to have been the name of her shrink. And as soon as they meet in this episode, in the present, it's crystal clear (to the audience, if not yet to Myfanwy) that they were having an affair. Her earlier self has left her a note, in Bristol's possession (which he gives to her now) that tells her to run if she's in Bristol's presence.
Paul LevinsonPublished 5 years ago in FuturismGet Inspired: Sustainability Podcasts to Listen to Now
I always write a lot about sustainability because it is something that we should all be concerned about, however it is also all very overwhelming. Sometimes it feels easier to just bury our heads, and ignore the reality of the climate crisis happening, but sleepwalking into irrevocable changes isn’t an option anymore.
