In the Star Wars universe, he is the legendary bounty hunter who made Mandalorian armor cool eons before Pedro Pascal’s titular character in The Mandalorian ever did. Yes, it is the one and only Boba Fett.

Though a man of few words with limited screen time in the original Star Wars trilogy (1977-1983,) Boba Fett—played by the late Jeremy Bulloch—went on to become an all-time fan favorite, thanks to his tough cold demeanor, badass weaponry, and not forgetting, distinctive Mandalorian armor.

Fascination with the character continued to grow during the prequel trilogy era where it was revealed in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones that young Boba (Daniel Logan) is the unaltered clone son of Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison), the genetic template for the Republic clone troopers.

After Jango was killed by Jedi Master Mace Windu in Attack of the Clones, a vengeful Boba is seen banding up with notorious bounty hunters Aurra Sing and Bossk in the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014, 2020).

Despite seemingly left for dead in a Sarlacc pit in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983), fans were thrilled when Boba Fett made a live-action return in the second season of the multi-Emmy-winning series, The Mandalorian (2019-present).

With Jango Fett actor Morrison portraying the Fett offspring this time, albeit much older but no less combative, the character was so well-received that a spin-off series, The Book of Boba Fett, was revealed during the end-credits of The Mandalorian Season 2 finale.

The new drama, which sees Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) staking their claim on what used to be the turf of Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate on Tatooine, is set to premiere on Disney+ on 29 December 2021. Prior to that, a Disney+ Day special, Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett, will debut exclusively on 12 November.

New Boba Fett adventures can also be found in the Marvel Comics series, War of the Bounty Hunters (2021)—which also prominently features Crimson Dawn alum Qi’ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story—and in the amusing Star Wars Visions (2021) non-canon episode, “Tatooine Rhapsody.”

In no order of merit, here are 15 of Boba Fett’s most memorable quotes from the Star Wars cinematic universe.

Boba Fett’s 15 Most Memorable Quotes from ‘Star Wars’

1. "As you wish."

—to Darth Vader, after the Dark Lord informs Fett and other bounty hunters that he wants the Millennium Falcon crew captured alive in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980). A film quote that would be made more endearing and sexier years later in 1987's The Princess Bride.

2. "He's no good to me dead."

—to Lord Vader, after the Imperial Supreme Commander informed him that he can have (a severely-tortured) Han Solo for Jabba the Hutt only after Luke Skywalker is caught, in The Empire Strikes Back.

3. "What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."

—to Darth Vader yet again, when the Sith Lord reveals his plans to carbon freeze Han Solo, in The Empire Strikes Back.

4. “Get him, dad, get him! Fire!”

—young Boba to Jango Fett, as his father tries to gun down Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi’s ship in an asteroid field in Attack of the Clones.

5. “I just want to kill the Jedi that murdered my father!”

—young Boba (voiced by Logan) to Aurra Sing, when his mentor indicates that—despite Boba having sabotaged the Jedi cruiser with Mace Windu on board—other ship members are to be killed off as well in The Clone Wars Season 2 Episode 20, “Death Trap.”

6. “I see now that I have done terrible things. But you started it when you murdered my father. I will never forgive you!”

—to Mace Windu, after the young vigilante was arrested by the Republic for attempting to assassinate the Jedi Master in Vanqor in The Clone Wars Season 2 Episode 22, “Lethal Trackdown.”

7. “I don’t want your armor. I want my armor that you got from Cobb Vanth back on Tatooine. It belongs to me!”

—an older Boba Fett to Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin a.k.a Mando, demanding the return of his signature armor when they met on planet Tython in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14, “The Tragedy.”

8. “I’m a simple man, making his way through the galaxy. Like my father before me.”

—to Mando, when asked if he was a Mandalorian in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14. The veteran bounty hunter paraphrased what his father Jango said to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones, while his second line echoes Luke Skywalker’s line, “I am a Jedi, like my father before me,” said to Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi.

9. “I give my allegiance to no one.”

—to Mando again, when asked if he ever took the (Mandalorian) Creed in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14.

10. “I was aiming for the other one.”

—to Mando, when the younger bounty hunter praises him for successfully shooting down two Imperial shuttles with just one rocket in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14.

11. “My chain code is encoded in this armor for 25 years. See, this is me, Boba Fett. This is my father, Jango Fett… He even fought in the Mandalorian civil wars.”

—to Mando, offering proof that the Mandalorian armor that Djarin took from Cobb Vanth belongs to him and that his father Jango was a Mandalorian foundling (just like Djarin) in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14.

12. “Until he is returned to you safely, we’re in your debt.”

—again to Mando, affirming that his and partner Fennec Shand’s deal with the Mandalorian is incomplete until Mando's ward, Grogu a.k.a. The Child, is rescued in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14.

13. “Let’s just say they might recognize my face.”

—to Mando, declining to infiltrate the Imperial remnant base in Morak with mercenary Migs Mayfeld as the son of Jango Fett notoriously shares his face with millions of clone troopers, in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 15, “The Believer.”

14. “Never said I was.”

—to Bo-Katan Kryze, after the Mandalorian Resistance leader asserts that he is not a true-blue Mandalorian in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 16, “The Rescue.”

15. “Power up those shields, princess. I’ll put up a good show.”

—to Bo-Katan again, when the Mandalorian warrior reminds him to shoot convincingly at the stolen Imperial shuttle that she, Mando, Cara Dune and Fennec Shand are on as they approach Moff Gideon’s light cruiser in a bid to rescue the Child in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 16.

The Book of Boba Fett premieres on 29 Dec 2021 on Disney+. Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett debuts on 12 Nov 2021 on Disney+.
