Obi-Wan Kenobi’s 15 Most Iconic Quotes from 'Star Wars'
Witty, chivalrous and knowledgeable, the legendary Jedi Master has some of the most quotable quotes from the 'Star Wars' cinematic universe.
After years of speculation, Scottish actor Ewan McGregor finally confirmed that he will be reprising his Star Wars role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for a new Disney Plus TV series that centers around the legendary Jedi.
First made famous by English actor Sir Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars trilogy (1977-1983), the character remains just as popular when McGregor made it his own in the fantasy sci-fi saga’s prequel trilogy (1999-2005), albeit as a younger, more playful but no less wise and skillful Kenobi.
From being a loyal Padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn to becoming Jedi Master to Anakin Skywalker (pre-Darth Vader), and then as mentor to Anakin’s son Luke, Obi-Wan Kenobi is much loved by fans for being a highly skilled warrior who is faithful to the Jedi code and devoted to defending peace in a galaxy far, far away.
The distinguished Jedi, who also go by the name of Ben, is also much cherished for his words of wisdom, as well as the sarcastic quips he often makes at the expense of both friends and foes.
In no order of merit, here are 15 of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s most iconic quotes from the Star Wars cinematic universe.
1. “Hello there!”
—to General Grievous, as he catches the leader of the droid army by surprise on the Separatist base in Utapau in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
2. “So uncivilized.”
—to a dead Grevious, after finally taking down the four-armed alien cyborg with a blaster instead of a lightsaber in Revenge of the Sith.
3. “Why do I get the feeling that you’re going to be the death of me?”

4. “Only a Sith deals in absolutes.”
—to Anakin, after realizing his Padawan has fully embraced the dark side in Revenge of the Sith.
5. “I have the high ground!”
—to Anakin again, as his apprentice attempts to strike him despite being on lower ground, a strategic disadvantage, during their epic duel in Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith. This phrase has also become very popular with memes.

12. “So what I told you was true… from a certain point of view.”
—to Luke, explaining (as a Force Ghost) that telling the young Jedi his father had died was somewhat true as Anakin Skywalker no longer existed the moment he became Darth Vader, in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983).
13. “You can kill me, but you will never destroy me. It takes strength to resist the dark side. Only the weak embrace it.”

“Remember, my dear Obi-Wan, I’ve loved you always. I always will.”
