Love
Strong-willed but vunerable. Content Warning.
Violet was everything a man could want. She was meek, kind, sweet, and intellegent. She was also very strong-willed. When someone didn't treat her right and wasn't willing to work it out, she would ditch them and move on to a different man. She wasn't easy, however. She was hard to get. She just didn't tolerate someone treating her like she was second best, trash, or someone to just take for granted. She had pride and confidence in herself. She was looking for true love, not just a temporary deal with a man.

MY 21ST BIRTHDAY
By: Priscilla Kachipapa Phiri My eyes were locked on the plate of fried chicken I’d ordered. Drumsticks, burning hot, with a bottle of Coke beside me. I was laughing at myself for not asking for mild when a hard slap landed on my right cheek. Before I could look up or speak, another one hit my left.

Ethereal Whisper. AI-Generated.
--- CHAPTER 1 --- Chapter 1: The Melody of Loneliness The silence was a palpable entity, wrapping around me like a shroud. I'd grown accustomed to it, this perpetual hush that had become my constant companion. It was as if the world had forgotten I existed, and I'd retreated into myself, content to dwell in the shadows.

Karma Always Finds a Way
She woke up and looked at the ceiling with great disgust, as if the decades-old roof were mocking her. Her surroundings were a true reflection of her poverty and helplessness. Laura was a twenty-three-year-old beautiful young woman with a fair complexion and grey eyes. Her glittering golden-brown hair, when it fell across her face, enhanced her beauty many times over.

Wanna Be Yours- Chapter 6
Milan took over her aunt’s chambers. Blankets and furniture were rearranged to her liking. By now the moon has risen. She stood at her balcony, gazing at the stars in the sky. She smiled sadly, “How long could I have had this view for?” There was no response. Not even from her mind. She sighed, turning around, her back leaning against the railings. There was a withering plant hanging from the rooftop. She gently raised her hand, her finger brushing against its tip. It suddenly sprang to life. It hangs low like a long vine. Running down the stoned walls till met the floor. One moment she was gazing at the grass. Next, a horse comes into view. She blinked. As the horse and the man riding on it came into view.

First day. Honorable Mention in You Had to Be There. Content Warning.
Tiny trembling hands fiddled with the buttons on her dress. They couldn’t stay straight, it was wrinkled. She hated that, she wanted everything to be perfect. She hated to leave her mom, hated to give up the great times watching ‘Bobby’s World’ or ‘Moon Dreamers’ with chocolate milk and bologna sandwiches. She liked them with mustard. She would at least know one person she was going to school with. Her uncle’s friend had a daughter her age and they were best friends. That was a relief. The world flew by as she rode on her mom’s lap in the passenger’s side of her grandpa’s blue S-10. Everything was familiar for now, until they got to the little school. It was already noon and she was glad she didn’t have to wake up early like some of the other kids. Her backpack bounced against her back as she held her mom’s hand as they walked down the giant hallway. This is the first time she would be somewhere alone without her mom or some other family member nearby.

In Another Life- Chapter 3
It had been days since Count Marzen Stellae’s passing. Lissana hadn’t left her family's home until his funeral. Today she sat in the front. His father sat on her left and her mother on her right. She stared mindlessly at his casket. They had just put it under ground. A priest reading a blessing over his grave.
