The Homecoming
Their fangs dripped as they picked up the dragon-babe, staining the caretaker's white scales. After so long, a new dragon birthed, only to be ripped away by these usurpers, the drake groaned inwardly as they receded into the wild. He lay wounded and bleeding on the forest floor. As he spoke the ancient summons, he fell into a deep trance, hoping they were uttered in time for any in the old alliance to hear.

BODARTH'S GREAT ADVENTURE
Gold coins littered the forest floor. That’s what first caught his attention, the glimmering reflection of ship-laden treasure spilled out on the rough embankment for all to see. The Witch Hunter's Descendants
“Help me! Please help me! ” Bridgit screamed in the dark forest, out of breath. Tears started to flow from her eyes as she looked at the emptiness that surrounded her. "Camouflage" (Roman Version)
So, like most parties, in this campaign, we were not in a modern setting. We were in a D&D 5e Fantasy version of the Roman Empire, circa 600AD. Also like most parties, we ended up making a decent number of references to more modern entertainment. The first time that I did it actually even made it into the campaign as something Bastian ended up singing one night - not so much to the party, but more to himself while he was bored. Lead to some interesting interactions. That'll come later as I go through his journal entries.

Little Egg
It was a crisp autumn morning when Mayar first set out at dawn. Careful to tiptoe past her sleeping family, she moved to extricate herself from the cave. Today was the day she would reach the peak of Mount Diamor. She had been pleading with her mom for months to let her try to summit the grey monster that shadowed them just west of the valley. Too small, her mother had told her; too young, her father echoed. Mayar, known to her family as May, knew these things to be true, but she also knew that she had the will to succeed, the gut determination to never give up. She would show them that she was brave and powerful and worthy of the humans’ awe but most importantly fear.
