We could hear angry growls as the monster paced near the entrance . It was probably contemplating on a way to get to us . I was wondering how many more times Visceroy can make his staff that large before getting tired , I thought it was probably be rude to ask a superior something like that in the heat of battle . It really didn’t matter though , if this doesn’t work we’ll have to fight . The chances of us getting away from something that size , while it's tracking our scent is low . Running away isn’t in option . That would at least be suicide to the two slowest people . Especially as extremely agitated it is now .

After a few minutes of the monster doing nothing it ferociously smashed through the side wall of the entrance . It jumped towards wade , who dodged last second . Visceroy swiftly took off towards the 3 of them and yelled back to us . “ C’mon squad let’s go back them up , my giant staff move can be useless when he’s that close to our comrades . “ He’s right I thought , he’ll probably be more useful with smaller staff attacks when we’re even closer .

By the time we reached them they were fighting in full life or death mode . The monsters haymaker attacks were missing though . At first It looked like their sword swings were connecting , but we saw no blood . In reality they were only cutting off the thick layers of hair on it . The wild monster thrashed around widely trying to end them with one large attack . The monster was jumping as high as it stood . If we ran out of magic we would be in trouble .

As the monster's hair started falling from Wade and Illdreds sword slashes , we started to recognize what the monster was . It has humanoid features like us , and stood upright while fighting . Then when we saw it’s face we really knew . It had one eye . I gasped , it was a giant cyclops . John said “, No way , the biggest cyclops back home is half his size ! “ We all stood there surprised in shock .

Then at once we snapped out of it , we had to go provide our back up for our back up . Visceroy was the first to snap out of it , as expected . He kept his staffs thickness about the size diameter of 3 feet , but he made it extend very far to around 30 feet . The giant cyclops dodged the attack from the staff by jumping up on the staff while continuing to swipe at the bat soldiers in the air . It’s like it gave up on grabbing wade or delivering a killing blow , and decided hitting would be enough . It changed its attack stance , jumped up then slapped him . Sending him crashing to the ground . He was bleeding but he’ll survive .

I yelled ,“Rose lets go heal him , us three will try to protect you while they’re fighting . “ The four of us ran to Wade , while Visceroy and Illdred fought the giant cyclops . Visceroy switched to a more tactical strategy . As I thought he uses his magic when he changes the power of the staff . So when keeping it at one size he exerts less magical stamina . He kept it then but long around 14 feet . He was using some sort of technique that I’ve never seen before to accurately make powerful jabs at the monsters legs . He was turning the fight into another battle of wills . I was starting to see a pattern with Sir Visceroy .
