Her children are like zombies when Gina had her fourth child it was a girl. She had no choice but to disown the child and put the child into the hands of a homeless woman. Figuring the child would be dead. Soon after Gina is with her husband 24 seven she works with him at the doctors office. Maybe Mumble has been living under a bridge for the past two years ever since being laid off from the still factory. She has had her metal can with leaves and twigs and Treelimbs to keep a fire going. She also has had a small tent where she could watch cars driving by under the bridge, as Maybe was walking around trying to find food in garbage cans, She comes back to a crying baby in her tent. Maybe cries bountifully! Maybe has not always been homeless. She worked 25 years in the steel mill before being laid off. She was caretaker to her mother, grandmother, and husband. She had no time for school. They all lived together in a small apartment, and all three people were dependent on her financially. Her car was 25 years old. Taking these people back and forth to doctors appointments. She missed a lot of days of work. And when it was time to lay people off, she begs for her job. Maybe became a junk dealer to make ends meet. One year later, her husband, mother, and grandmother died within days of each other. There was no money for funeral expenses nor cremation. Maybe, at night, dug three holes in a field far from residential areas. After she was done, she transported the three of them via wheelchair and put them in her car. The dead weight was extremely heavy. She did this at three in the morning. She prayed hard that her car would make it to the field surrounded by trees, and that she would not get stopped by law enforcement. She bought a lot of lye to cover the odor, continuously praying that no one sees what she is doing. It’s the same place where she buried her infant daughter three years earlier. She prayed for strength to dig the graves. She buried her loved ones in such a way to let the earth swallow them up. One month later, the landlord throws her out and Maybe finds a place to stay under a bridge.

Maybe named the child Vale. Maybe thinks to herself, I cannot live like this! I have to find this child’s mother. Maybe, thinks to herself, who would leave me a baby! She recalls a weird couple at the doctor’s office in which she worked a total of two months. Maybe came to work early one snowy Friday morning and heard them arguing. She specifically heard. How dare you get pregnant again! As soon as it is born, we have to get rid of it as soon as possible. Maybe’s job was to take calls and patient complaints and schedule appointments. Gina, the doctor’s wife, had to go with him into the room while he examined the patient. She hid behind a white curtain wearing a white cloth sack over her head with holes where the eyes and nostrils are. She had to wear a white jump suit covering her whole body along with white gloves and boots.

While Dr. Dick was driving, he was trying to find where to dump the baby. He drove under a bridge and noticed a homeless woman that used to work for him. She left the tent to go somewhere. Dr. Dick put his hazards on, got out of the car and put the baby in a tent.

Thirty years later: Armour is 37, Earnest is 36, and Handle is 35. Vale is 31. Gina found Vale after her husband died. Gina is dying of cancer: she gathers all her children at the table: all of her son’s are doctor’s! Dick sent them to a school where he knew all of the faculty and staff. Vale works at the local 7-11. Her brother’s have disowned her. She had to fight and struggle for every penny she got. She lives in a bad neighborhood, wears hand me downs, she’s behind in her rent, and has to take public transportation. Gina tells her children, I have an inheritance for you. I’ve gathered a trust that will take care of you for the rest of your lives. If I’m in the hospital dying, and whoever reaches me before I die, will get the inheritance.

Three years later, all of Gina’s children receive a call from the cancer center. They are told, your mom doesn’t have long to live, she would like to see all of you before she dies. The son’s all think to themselves, dad did not give mom shit! It’s not worth their time nor money to catch a plane to Minnesota in hostile, extremely cold weather for pebbles! How much did she save ten dollars max?

Vale was able to get a car for 1,000 dollars, a rusty old 1994 Toyota carolla. Everyday, Vale has to put oil in the engine. Every week, she puts air in the tires. The wires to the battery are duck taped. The breaks are whistling. There are strings reaching from the front hood to under the wheels of the car. Vale researches where the hospital is using google map search using the library’s computer. She also looks at how she can get there via public transportation. After all the research is done, it would cost 200 dollars as far as greyhound and 150 for Lyft to reach the hospital. Vale needs that money for down payment on another apartment. Minnesota is heavy with snow. Vale figures that Gina just wants attention. But she can’t get what was said at the table out of her head. All Vale can do is take the car there and pray.

Vale obtains a copy of google maps from the library computer with turn by turn directions. She leaves within the hour. Vale is facing eviction and none of her brothers will help her. She has been given a five day notice to come up with 2500 dollars or get out. All she has is 350 dollars and an old car. Vale leaves, heads to Minnesota. It is snowing outside.

Oh my God!! The car died. Val tried calling her brother’s from her government phone. They do not respond. It is freezing and the car will not start. Thank God I got it off the highway. Vale starts putting her thumb out to hitchhike. Vale thinks to herself, if I get killed, I’m going to paradise anyway! No more LandLord! No more bills! No more roaches! No more rodents! No more fucked up people’s shitty cars they want to sell at rip off prices, dumping their problems on suckers like me! While Vale was ruminating, a car stops. Vale screams, O My God!!What the hell did I do to deserve getting murdered! The vehicle that stopped was a double wheeled dodge ram with spiked gold rims. The truck was on a slant, back wheels with fat wide tires far from the frame! The front tires have skull rims! The guy that gets out of the truck looks worse! Tattoos all over face, all his teeth are gold plated. Dreadlocks with piercings all over face and skull tattoos all over body. Leather with spikes from head to toe. His response was bitch what the fuck are you doing driving that piece of shit in this weather! I outta kill and rape yo dumb ass for yo stupidity! I hate fuckin stupid people! Vale cries out! my mother’s dying of cancer she wants to see me before she dies! Bulldog says, get In the fuckin truck! Vale thinks to herself, I guess I’ll be joining my mother after all! No need to see her before she dies, we’ll be in paradise together. Bulldog asks, what hospital In Minnesota. Vale gives him the address. He speeds over 80 miles per hour on these slick roads, he stops in front of the hospital and says, get the fuck out before I decide to kill you. Vale quickly gets out of the truck.

Gina is in room 333. Vale is by her bedside. She is sleeping. Vale wonders, is she in a coma? Breaking news comes on the television. Vale’s heart nearly jumps out of her chest! The guy that drove her here is wanting for murder in 15 states! He has picked up hitchhikers killing and dismembering their bodies. If you see this person, call the police immediately. He is armed and extremely dangerous. Gina opens her eyes and says, you had three seconds left before my offer expired! Gina gives Vale a red book and then closed her eyes forever! Doctors and nurses flood the room, escorting Vale out. Vale finds the lobby and goes through the red book. In the book, there is a key to an apartment in her name. There is also a list of stocks Gina sold for over a million dollars with password and username. A thumb falls out of the book. The note says you have three hours to access these accounts. Gina’s I phone falls out of the book.Vale quickly accessed her mother’s accounts and transfers the money to her accounts. Vale is also astounded to see credit cards in her name.

A week later, the brother’s commit suicide together jumping from the 54 th floor. They could not believe Vale got a fortune!
