The Arts Committee meeting had been productive. Dana checked his notes on the legal pad in front of him. All the items scheduled for discussion had been addressed and each had a set of initials beside it, indicating the member that particular project had been assigned to. Over half of the items bore the initials "DOC".

From all indications, the upcoming Community Arts Festival should be a hit with townspeople of all ages. The committee members had come up with wonderful ideas for the displays of local artists' work, concessions had been arranged, and games, with prizes, would be available to keep the kids entertained.

Even the Police Department had gotten involved, with several officers volunteering their off-duty time to discourage any miscreant types that might feel the need to cause trouble. The park was generally a fairly safe venue, but there would be a considerable amount of valuable artwork on display.

Dana made a note in red ink to be sure to call to arrange free coffee and donuts as well as lunch for the officers with the concessionaires. The committee Treasurer had verified the funds to cover those costs.

"Just one more item," the Chairman announced, "We'll need to verify our reservation of the bandstand with the City."

Dana's friend, Mickey, chuckled, pointed and said to him, "You know, you really ought to get that fixed."

Sure enough, Dana's hand had gone up once again.

Lol- been there too. It can help to keep a picture of something you love to do on your legal pad. Do you want to work on another committee or have more time to fish, write etc... Love the word too!. Great entry. 😊

Ah yes, overcommitting is something I am familiar with! Nicely done Dana!

Haha! I love that you write a story about yourself that was "loosely based on a true story" great work Dana! Love the word but can't say I relate too heavily to this story! I am the type to hide and pray I don't get asked as I can't say no! Even if I don't want to do the thing! 😅

  • You too, Dana? Lol!

This is totally on point with the image and idea I have of what you're like as a person. You need to learn how to say no lol or take Dharr's advice and have your hands tied up behind your back, lol! This was great though and a nice entry to the challenge, well done!

  • You gotta keep your hands tied behind your back. You know, hostage style. That's whats trending now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
