Chapter 5

New Recruits

Jeremiah, Nic, and Tiffany are literally running to Head Spikey's office. They slam the door open and rush in seeing Ratchet, a weird yellow catlike creature referred to as a Lombax; Clank, a tiny robot who is also Ratchet’s partner; and Captain Quirk, a regular human dressed up in green superhero garments from the Ratchet and Clank world there with Head Spikey.

"Did I miss something else while I was knocked out?" asks Jeremiah confused.

"No. They just got here a minute ago," says Head Spikey.

"Oh," responds Jeremiah.

"We heard Dr. Nefarious has joined up with someone named Darkness," explains Ratchet.

"What? Did Darkness put up signs around the multiverse saying 'Join me or you will be destroyed along with the multiverse,'" questions Jeremiah.

"Yes. It also has some strange code in the fine print," says Ratchet.

"There are also portals behind every poster which is why we didn’t bring one. If anything did come out of it, though, they would be no match for Captain Quirk," brags Captain Quirk while flexing his muscles.

"Since they're joining the agency, let’s give you a quick screening. Please direct your attention to the screen," says Head Spikey.

The screen appears showing the new Ratchet & Clank habitat which was a mini-galaxy with two planets, a sun, and an asteroid belt. How the heck did they possibly construct something like that in such a short timespan? We may never know.

The screen disappears and Nic quickly declares, "I want Ratchet and Clank as my new partners." Head Spikey says, "Why didn't you say that before I deactivated the screen?"

The screen reappears and it shows Nic's ship with standees of Ratchet & Clank in front of it.

The screen disappears again.

"Let me fill you in on what's happening. The reason you were trapped in that one dimension was because of the Dark Ship. Oh, by the way, Nic, you did a great job rescuing Jeremiah," explains and congratulates Head Spikey.

"Thanks," thanked Nic.

"What about me?" asks Tiffany.

"You did great too, Tiffany," responds Head Spikey.

"Thanks," thanks Tiffany.

"WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS," shouts Ratchet.

"He's right. But, I have one more thing to do before you go. And just so you know, Jeremiah, I don't normally do this," says Head Spikey.

The screen appears for a third time and it shows the Phoenix Warbird shooting something at the Peace Maker. It hits and upgrades the ship to Lv. 3.

"Now you must rename the ship. Please note, that you can never use the name Peace Maker ever again," says Head Spikey.

"Its new name will be the Hammer Head Sparks and my new partner will be Captain Quirk since everyone else is already taken," says Jeremiah.

"Ok," says Head Spikey.

Then, the screen switches to his new ship consisting of a more simplistic design shaped like a T and pale yellow with multiple windows, greater size than the Peace Maker, and a huge cannon on one side of it. There were also wings on the back and sides of the ship and a turret on the front of it along with its thruster in full view on the rear. Somebody was putting up a standee of Captain Quirk then they notice the camera and quickly run off screen leaving the standee there which falls down.

The screen disappears for the third time this chapter.

"Do we really have to do this? It uses up a lot of time," questions Ratchet.

"Don’t question our methods. Now go!" gripes Head Spikey.

They run out of the office into the hallway heading for the remains of the Ship Bay. On the way there, Captain Quirk drops his blaster and trips over it. It lands on the trigger and fires itself. The laser bounces around and hit Head Spikey’s office effectively destroying it. Jeremiah panics, "Let’s get out of here, double time." Everyone nods. They get on the ships and leave.

Chapter 6

Destruction of the Dark Ship

Everyone is in the Hammer Head Sparks and Phoenix Warbird. Except Articuno, who can't fit in the ships. They are currently heading towards the Dark Ship, which is in their sights, and it's sucking up another town. The ships start shooting at the Dark Ship. Articuno used Ice Beam. Everything hit but there isn't even a single scratch. Then, it starts firing its cannons. They start dodging it by making quick diagonal movements. And it's heading towards me! I hope somebody saves me. The Hammer Head Sparks comes in front of me. The door opens and Jeremiah says, "Get in quick." So I did and he quickly swerves to dodge another cannon fire. Thanks, me. Jeremiah says, "You're welcome. But, did you forget you could levitate?" Man, I'm dumb. Jeremiah responds, "You did come out of the cloning machine, so I'll give you a break." Thanks.

The Dark Ship kept firing its cannons. We kept dodging while shooting. Eventually, Jeremiah started charging his cannon. Suddenly, a black lightning bolt came out of the Dark Ship. Jeremiah dodges it by doing a barrel roll and shoots an amplified Light Blast at it making a huge dent in the Dark Ship. Jeremiah dropped me off at a nearby place. Then, he flies back to the battle in the sky.

"Hey, Nic. Did you see that black lightning bolt?" asks Jeremiah.

"Yes. But, why was it black?" wonders Nic.

"Maybe Zeus can explain."

"Or my dad."

"Why? Who is your dad?"

"Um…nobody."

"I'll investigate later."

Suddenly, two portals appear out of nowhere. One was blue and one was pink. Dialga, a blue dragon-type Pokémon who looks like he’s made out of refined materials and a diamond under his neck in an octagonal container, comes out of the blue portal. Palkia, a pink dragon-type bipedal Pokémon with a pearl in its arm, comes out of the pink portal. Dialga used Roar of Time, a blue beam that causes Dialga to recharge afterwards; while Palkia used Spacial Rend, a pink shockwave launched from his arm on the Dark Ship. A black Planetary Wall, a sphere creating a shield of electricity, appears around the Dark Ship. It still did quite a bit of damage, though. This gives Jeremiah an idea. He turns on the Hammer Head Sparks’ outside speakers.

"Attention, Dialga and Palkia. I have a plan to destroy the Dark Ship. I just need the Adament Orb, the Lustrous Orb, and some time. If it works, I'll be able to destroy the Dark Ship with one shot."

Suddenly, the Adament and Lustrous Orb appear in Jeremiah's hands. Then, Dialga, Palkia, Articuno, and the Phoenix Warbird start launching a full frontal assault on the Dark Ship. Jeremiah quickly gets out his tools and opens up a panel in the Hammer Head Sparks. He starts modifying his cannon. A few minutes later, Jeremiah finishes the modifications and closes the panel. He attaches the Adamant and Lustrous Orbs to the cannon’s input system and warns into the speaker, "Stand back." Then, he activates the Space-Time Cannon and it begins charging. It fires. The blue and pink beam zips across the sky and pierces through the Dark Ship’s hull causing it to explode. The wreckage rains down on the ground.

Chapter 7

Dark Lightning

Everyone just landed near the remains of the Dark Ship. Jeremiah tells Captain Quirk when they land after they walk outside the ship, "Bring me the Adament and Lustrous Orb and don't drop them like you dropped your blaster earlier and caused the destruction of Head Spikey’s office." Captain Quirk runs back inside the Peace Maker and grabs them and as he was just getting out, he disobeys Jeremiah's orders and dropped them. Jeremiah quickly catches them and scolds, "I said don't drop them." Captain Quirk apologizes, "Sorry." Jeremiah gives the orbs back to Dialga and Palkia.

Suddenly, black electricity starts surging through the rubble. Everyone heard the crackling electricity and turns their head towards the rubble. The remnants start floating on it on the currents of black electricity. Somebody walks out of the drop zone. The dark electricity stemming from his body. And why does he look a bit like Nic? A question that may be answered in a later story.

"Who are you?" asks Jeremiah.

"The name is Dark Lightning," answers Dark Lightning. Good thing he said his name. I didn't want to put "says ???."

"That electricity is certainly dark," comments Jeremiah.

"I know. It's magnificent, isn't it?" asks Dark Lightning rhetorically as he walks away from the rubble and it all drops to the ground.

"No. My electric powers can beat yours," proclaims Nic.

"I see you can talk the talk but can you walk the walk," muses Dark Lightning.

"Yes," claims Nic.

"Me and Tiffany will help you," adds Jeremiah.

"Yeah," agrees Tiffany.

"No. This is my fight," states Nic.

"Good enough for me," says Jeremiah in response putting in a V-shape.

"Say what? But, what about Nic?" asks Tiffany with worry in her voice.

"He can take care of himself," says Jeremiah.

"Can you hurry up over there? I'm getting tired of waiting," complains Dark Lightning.

Jeremiah and Tiffany finally get out of the blast zone via levitation. It's about time, too. I can't wait to see and narrate the fight. And since I'm the narrator, nobody can argue with me. "Yes we can," comments Jeremiah. Stay out of this, Jeremiah. What I say goes. Wait. What are you doing? Don't blast me. "Then, stop monologuing," orders Jeremiah. Ok. I'll just narrate.

Nic and Dark Lightning start shooting each other with lightning bolts. I would ask for popcorn, but I don't want to die. Jeremiah just got some, though. Dark Lightning starts condensing black electricity into dark electric balls in the palms of his hands and hurls them at Nic. Nic blocks it using his Planetary Wall. Electricity surges out of Nic’s hand and he puts it together into a gigantic electric hand. He uses it to grab Dark Lightning. Dark Lightning makes black electricity surge through his body, which disbursed the electro hands. Dark Lightning shoots an electric blast at Nic. Nic did the same. They collide and make a huge explosion.

Suddenly, electricity started surging through Nic's body. "No, it's not." Yes, it is. "No, I don't feel anything," states Nic. I'm the narrator of this book, so you will listen to me. "Stop harassing him," says ???. Ok, fine. Dark Lightning swirls black electricity into a black electric tornado that rushes at Nic as we argue. It collides with Nic once we got done arguing knocking him through the air while simultaneously electrocuting him. He lands back-first skidding across the ground unconscious. And I just had to argue with him, didn't I?

Dark Lightning steps closer to him and starts charging another attack. Jeremiah blasts him with a pure light beam knocking him back and disrupting his charge. Tiffany grabs Nic and runs to the Phoenix Warbird. It takes off. Before Dark Lightning has a chance to launch a counterattack, Dialga and Palkia attack Dark Lightning. A portal appears behind him and sucks him in closing behind him. Yay, they won, sort of. Which is good for my sake. Jeremiah hops in the Hammer Head Sparks and leaves. Dialga and Palkia follow them.

Chapter 8

Discover the Truth

Currently, they're in Head Spikey's office watching the footage of the battle. Unfortunately, I was put in a cell for interfering.

"So he finally started attacking, huh?" thought Head Spikey aloud.

"So you knew about Dark Lightning, Head Spikey?" asks Jeremiah.

"Yes. We have been monitoring him for a while. He seems to have the dark version of Nic's powers. All other information is unknown," explains Head Spikey.

"I see. But what about that mysterious voice I heard when the narrator was arguing with Nic?" inquires Jeremiah.

"I believe that might have been one of the Gods of Awesome," answers Head Spikey.

"The Gods of Awesome?"

"They control the multiverse. They made other gods to look after the individual planets. For example, the Greek Gods are one of the sets of gods they made. They were the original gods. If I had to guess which one it was, I would guess Zora, god of electricity."

"I see."

"Well, anyway, mission complete."

"All right."

"Also, Dialga and Palkia joined us, so here is the screen."

The screen appears showing the Pokémon habitat with Dialga and Palkia inside the legendary mini habitat. The screen disappears.

"You better go down to dinner, then."

"Ok. Bye."

"Bye."

Jeremiah goes to the Dinner Diner. Meanwhile, Darkness is performing a prison break, sort of.

"Who are you?" asks Dark Lightning.

"Your new master. Bow before me, Dark Lightning," orders Darkness.

Dark Lightning felt the tremendous pressure exuding from Darkness because of the sheer power he holds. Upon sensing this power, he bows to him.
