A Rainbow Is Just An Illusion

A rainbow is just an optical illusion, a beautiful prism. The reflection of water droplets in the air.

And leprechauns are merely, little bearded men, wearing little green coats and hats, who partake in mischief. In later times, they have been depicted as shoemakers who have a hidden pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. Able to create gold that in a short time just disappears, jokesters, pranksters, make believe, fairytales.

Well, that IS what they want you to believe.

WOW.... they really do have their business down pat. Put the truth right in front of our eyes, dress it up a bit, and BAM...myth, fable, legend, yearly celebration.

Genius, right?

For centuries, we (humans) have been in awe, at the wonder of the rainbow. We tease and gasp at their beauty and giggle about the secrets they might hide.

The name "Roy G. Biv" is an easy way to remember the colors of the rainbow, and the order in which they appear: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. (Many scientists, however, think "indigo" is too close to blue to be truly distinguishable.) Yet another thing to get you to think about.

But is that the REAL truth?

What I am about to tell you, is a story so unimaginable, our brains, just can't wrap itself around the magnitude of it. So, we settle, choosing to believe the stories we learned as children. Fables (silly as they may seem) about leprechauns, and pots of gold waiting to be found at the end of the rainbow.

Truth is...

Roy is real. He exists today as the covert operator and CFO of the leprechauns Gild. For centuries, he has been in charge of moving funds for the colonies of leprechauns, insuring a stable financial future for generations to come. Hundreds of the most skilled and covert diminutive supernatural beings, answer to Roy.

They are tasked with keeping the end of the rainbows secure, and the gold that rests there, at the end of them, hidden.

To make this even more embarrassing for us, every March, they come out in droves to mingle amongst us.

That's right, as we parade around half befuddled, they are feeding us full of illusions and Guinness. Keeping us unaware as they move the gold, right under our noses.

You may even see it, but it will soon be written it off as a moment of drunken stupor. A memory brought on by inebriation.

What a good story it will be too. And every year that you drag yourself to a pub, it will improve. The clarity will be astounding, but no-one will ever believe that it could ever be true.

No-one, ever.

Keeping the secret of their operations just within our grasps, has been the best way to hide the truth from us.

My friends, there IS gold in them there rainbows, but we will never find it.

Roy will make sure of it.

Happy St. Patty's Day, or should I say, Patsy?

Oh wowww! Roy being real and the gold at the end of the rainbow as well blee my mind! So creative!

  • I've actually been to the end of the rainbow & there is a pot of gold there. One morning as I was driving to the country church at my first appointment, it was very foggy. But as i was driving around a curve, the sun managed to peak out & cast a rainbow smack dab into the middle of a small field at the side of the road where I was. It was amazing. Ever since, I've told people that the pot of gold isn't something we can redeem or spend, but it is spectacular!

Nicely done, I have that Kenny Loggins, CD. It’s such beautiful lullaby CD for babies. I love the Christopher Robins and last Unicorn song in it. Magic is definitely all around us 🥰

love, LOVE it. I'd gone to a St. Pat's outdoor festival and saw a very small gentleman (and no, he wasn't a child) dressed as a Leprechaun. Made me look twice at him and no, I wasn't drunk - yet. At that time, I only had one Guiness. I turned my head to retrieve my phone (so I could take a picture) and he was gone!! Never saw him again.

  • I love it... Fun reading... Great work Kelli.
